  • Patent number: 10988166
Abstract: A method for generating an auxiliary steering torque (AST) adapted to a present driving situation (PDS) of a motor vehicle using an active steering assistance system (SAS), including ascertaining the present driving situation (PDS); classifying the ascertained present driving situation (PDS) into at least one of a group of driving situation categories (DSC); and generating an auxiliary steering torque (AST) using the active steering assistance system (SAS). Wherein the amount and/or a time profile of the auxiliary steering torque (AST) depends on the classification of the present driving situation (PDS) into one of the driving situation categories (DSC).
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 27, 2021
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Andreas Giersiefer, Patrick Glet, Christoph Klein
  • Patent number: 10915103
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for capturing a traffic lane. A traffic lane data set is evaluated to capture an abrupt change of the traffic lane. The traffic lane data set is divided into a new traffic lane data set that represents a new traffic lane boundary and an old traffic lane data set that represents an old traffic lane boundary. A difference data set is determined between the old traffic lane data set and the new traffic lane data set. The difference data set is added to the new traffic lane data set to form a resulting data set, wherein the difference data set is weighted with a plurality of weighting factors.

  • Publication number: 20190071126
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a driver assistance system to support or automate the transverse control of a vehicle by applying a steering torque to an electrically assisted steering system. The driver assistance system is configured to determine a target value for a course curvature of a movement path of the vehicle, which the transverse control is based through a calculation of a Bézier curve. The calculation uses images of a traffic lane, recorded via a camera, located in front of the vehicle.
