Abstract: Diffraction gratings are disclosed, for use in micro-opto-electro-mechanical (MOEM) applications. The diffraction gratings include movable components that move relative to stationary components, such that square wells are formed for diffracting incident light. The diffraction gratings are capable of horizontal diffraction, vertical diffraction, or diffraction simultaneously in the horizontal and vertical directions.
