    Abstract: A wicking mitigation chassis for housing components of a liquid-cooled information handling system includes one or more notches formed in an edge of a bottom of the chassis. The one or more notches are configured to disrupt a flow of fluid within the chassis caused by leakage from a liquid cooling subassembly housed within the chassis to slow wicking of the fluid. The wicking mitigation chassis includes one or more rises in an outer surface of the bottom of the chassis created by dimpling an opposing surface of the bottom of the chassis. The one or more rises are configured to concentrate at least a portion of the flow of fluid in regions of the outer surface surrounding the one or more rises.

    Abstract: A fluid flow control subsystem for controlling fluid flows within a liquid-cooled information handling system includes a structure that extends upward from a chassis base of the liquid-cooled information handling system. A capillary action-inducing flange extends outwardly from a bottom portion of the structure and forms a narrow gap above the chassis base. Responsive to a fluid leak within the liquid-cooled information handling system, the capillary action-inducing flange causes a capillary flow to draw leaked fluid in a predetermined direction.

    Abstract: A fluid removal subsystem to excise leaked coolant from an information handling system includes an electric self-priming pump. The electric self-priming pump is encased in a housing sized to fit entirely within a chassis of the information handling system. An intake port and an outtake port are formed in the housing. Intake tubing may be connected with the intake port, and outtake tubing connected with the outtake port. The electric self-priming pump is configured to draw fluid within the chassis into the intake tubing and discharge the fluid through the outtake tubing to thereby remove at least a portion of the fluid from the chassis.

    Abstract: An information handling system includes a leak detection sensor that has an insulator with a first surface and a second surface. The information handling system also includes a first conductive ink formed to a first conductive pattern on the first surface and a second conductive ink formed to a second conductive pattern on the second surface. In addition, the information handling system includes a processor coupled to the leak detection sensor, the processor is configured to measure resistance change with the first conductive ink and the second conductive ink and in response to a determination that the resistance change is below a threshold, the processor transmit a signal indicating that a leak is detected.

    Abstract: A support foot is mechanically fastened to an information handling system chassis with a coupling device partially embedded in the support foot through injection molding of the support foot over the coupling device. For instance the coupling device is a staple made of ductile metal having a body embedded in the support foot and two legs extending outward towards the chassis side of the support foot. The legs insert in openings at a chassis attachment point and bend to secure the support foot to the chassis. For instance, the staple legs are formed from a ductile metal, such as brass, aluminum or steel, that is bent by hand or by a machine to a closed staple shape.

    Abstract: In a method and system for detachably docking a portable device to a docking device, the docking device is placed on a stable surface. The docking device includes a pair of moveable rear latches and moveable front latches, which are operable to latch on to corresponding matching slots of the portable device when docked. The portable device is aligned vertically on top of the docking device. A vertical force is applied on the portable device. When properly aligned a pair of alignment pins included in the docking device mate with corresponding notches on the portable device when the two devices are docked. A release latch on the docking device is operable to undock the two devices.
