  • Patent number: 4594504
Abstract: A sensor which provides an output signal representative of a parameter such as pressure, includes a reflector, a lens and a waveguide which are relatively movable as a function of the parameter. Light from a light source is transmitted by the waveguide toward the reflector. The lens, which is positioned between the waveguide and the reflector directs the light from the waveguide to the reflector and focuses the reflected light proximate a receiving surface of the waveguide. A sensor housing supports the waveguide, lens and reflector so that a relative physical displacement between the waveguide, lens and reflector occurs which is responsive to the parameter. The light received by the waveguide at its receiving surface is a function of the relative physical displacement, and thus a function of the parameter. The waveguide transmits the received light to a light detector which produces an electrical output signal which is a function of the received light and therefore of the parameter.

  • Patent number: 4506121
Abstract: A force override compensating device as one component of the mechanical operating linkage in an electrical socket interlocked dead front safety switch or circuit breaker. Distinct input and output members urged into rigid relation with each other by a spring bias mechanism function as a solid link under normal circumstances. With the interlocking mechanism immobilized, the bias mechanism permits waste movement of the input member relative output member, if an attempt is made erroneously to activate the device using such force as would damage any of the immobilized linkage elements of the locked device. The bias mechanism reverse waste movement of the input member when the erroneously applied force is released.

  • Patent number: 4385703
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for shaking pieces of breaded food to remove excess breading intermixed therewith and for sifting said breading to recover reusable portions thereof. The breaded pieces of food are placed in a fryer basket which is positioned within a shaker housing, and the housing and the basket are then mechanically shaken to cause excess breading intermixed with the pieces of food to fall onto a screen located below the basket within the housing. The excess breading is sifted by the screen and the reusable portions of the breading are then recovered in a recover pan located therebelow.

  • Patent number: 4222291
Abstract: A fixture for indexing a work piece, a machine spindle, or the like permits indexing a single rotation of the work piece or other mechanism in any integral number of equal divisions. Stops for the divisions are made to suit the job by assembling a standard roller chain with as many pins and pin spaces as there are to be divisions and mounting the chain about a tapered body, preferably a cone. Fixtures hold the chain at the plane in which the periphery of the cone is the right diameter to receive the chain and other parts adjust the indexing stop to overlie the roller chain at that plane. Adjustments are provided to adjust the indexing stop peripherally of the cone a short distance in order to bring the indexing stop to the required rotational position. This adjustment may also be used to adjust the rotatable part a fraction of an indexing stop.
