  • Patent number: 6977493
Abstract: An electrical power probe is provided. In one aspect, an electrical power probe includes a power probe control unit adapted to connect to a direct current (DC) power source and receive an input source voltage from the DC power source. The power probe control unit comprises a power switch controlling the switching of the input source voltage to a cable. A power probe wand includes a conductive wand tip and a user controlled switch, with the wand tip being connected to the power switch by the cable. The power probe control unit sends a query message to the power probe wand. The power probe wand unit sends a response to the power probe control unit in response to the query message, with response indicating the position of the user controlled switch. The power probe control unit selectably switches the power switch based on the position of the user controlled switch.

  • Patent number: 6899238
Abstract: A davit arm system includes a base that supports a davit arm and engages an underlying ground surface. The system components are preferably designed for arrangement in alternative ways to accommodate different installation environments, and/or for packaging in a bag that may be carried by a single person. The relative positions of the components are preferably adjustable relative to the base to further accommodate different applications. Yet another desirable option is to mount the davit arm on the support base in a manner that allows rotation about both a vertical axis and a horizontal axis. A winch is preferably mounted on the davit arm in a manner that counterbalances the davit arm relative to its vertical axis of rotation.

  • Publication number: 20030182772
Abstract: A buckle includes a first assembly and a second assembly which are selectively latched to one another. Each assembly includes a keeper and a latch secured between a pair of first and second outer plates. The two assemblies are identical in construction and configured to selectively interlock in a manner that provides a reliable buckle.

  • Patent number: 6446753
Abstract: A descender includes a frame having opposing first and second plates which define a gap therebetween. Three bearing members are movably interconnected between the plates and linked to an operator. A flexible member has opposite end portions which extend in opposite directions, and an intermediate portion which is routed about the bearing members in a manner which forms a knot. Movement of the operator relative to the frame causes the bearing members to move relative to the frame and thereby loosens or tightens the knotted, intermediate portion of the flexible member about the bearing members.

  • Patent number: 6260661
Abstract: A first roof mounting assembly includes first and second brackets which are disposed on top of a roof and fastened to adjacent beams which support the roof. First and second brackets are mounted to respective brackets and interconnected together with an anchorage. A second roof mounting assembly includes first and second brackets having base members and intermediate members. The base members are connected to the roof beams, and the intermediate members are interconnected by a cross-member which supports the anchorage. In a preferred application, the anchorage accommodates passage of a slotted coupling device movably mounted on the safety line, and the safety line may be secured to the anchorage without obtaining access to either end of the line.
