  • Patent number: 8551044
Abstract: Multiple reservoir implantable valve accumulator pump for the delivery of medication, and method of infusate delivery. The apparatus includes at least first and second infusate reservoirs in a common pressure chamber, each in fluid communication with a metering assembly. The metering assembly includes an accumulator that is preferably a fixed volume accumulator having an inlet and an outlet. A first valve is in fluid communication with the first infusate reservoir and an inlet of the accumulator, and a second valve is in fluid communication with the second infusate reservoir and an inlet of the accumulator. An outlet valve is in fluid communication with the outlet of the accumulator. The accumulator can be filled with infusate from the first and second infusate reservoirs sequentially, can be filled from the first infusate reservoir multiple times consecutively, the second infusate reservoir multiple times consecutively, or any combination or permutation thereof.

  • Patent number: 8388348
Abstract: There are provided a method, system and medium having instructions embedded to determine an attribute of a simulated patient's state resulting from a patient-physician encounter. The method includes receiving a current treatment move and an initial value of the attribute; calculating a maximal expected incremental effect value of the current treatment move over a previous treatment move on the attribute; attenuating the maximal expected incremental effect value based on amount of time between the previous treatment move and the current treatment move; summing the attenuated maximal expected incremental effect value with the initial value to generate an updated attribute of the simulated patient's state; and generating a patient-physician encounter that includes the updated attribute.

  • Publication number: 20100243181
Abstract: The vented shower curtain is a shower curtain having a plurality of air flow vents formed therethrough, allowing environmental air from outside a shower stall to pass into the shower stall, thus replacing heated air that has escaped overhead from the shower stall, and preventing the shower curtain from curling into the shower stall when a user is showering. The vented shower curtain includes at least two panels, with each panel having opposed first and second edges. The second edge of a first panel overlaps the first edge of a second panel, with a plurality of spaced apart seals securing the second edge of the first panel to the first edge of the second panel. Adjacent ones of the plurality of seals define air vents therebetween, thus allowing environmental to pass through the air vents when the bather is showering.

  • Patent number: 6942381
Abstract: A method and apparatus for accurately measuring superheat, bath ratio and alumina concentration in an aluminum smelting bath. In one embodiment, a reusable probe determines the bath temperature and bath sample superheat. In other embodiments, the probe also determines bath composition including bath cryolite ratio and alumina concentration.
