  • Publication number: 20250344635
Abstract: A power lawn mower having a height-of-cut (HOC) system adapted to adjust a height of a cutting blade of the mower relative to a ground surface upon which the mower operates by adjusting the vertical position of two wheels of the mower relative to a chassis of the mower. The HOC system may include a transverse connecting rod that allows movement of a single HOC control to simultaneously change the vertical position of both wheels throughout an HOC range. A lowermost portion of the connecting rod may remain at an elevation below a cutting plane of the cutting blade (and/or below lower surfaces of the chassis) regardless of the position of the cutting blade within the HOC range to provide a grass striping effect.

  • Publication number: 20250249807
Abstract: Suspension systems and grounds maintenance vehicles incorporating the same are disclosed. The suspension system may include biasing elements or springs that may be adjusted to vary the preload and thus change the spring and dampening characteristics of the suspension system. In some embodiments, the system may include an adjustment mechanism that permits simultaneous adjustment of two springs via a single action. In other embodiments, features adapted to assist an operator with mounting/dismounting the vehicle are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20250169395
Abstract: A power equipment unit such as a power lawn mower includes a housing, an electric propulsion motor, a handle, a force sensor, and a controller. The electric motor provides the housing with powered movement over a ground surface at a variable ground speed. The handle is movable over a maximum handle travel range spanning between a handle neutral position and a handle maximum position. At least a portion of the force sensor travels a maximum sensor travel range spanning between a sensor neutral position corresponding to the handle neutral position, and a maximum sensor output position corresponding to the handle maximum position. The controller receives input from the force sensor to control the electric propulsion motor.

  • Publication number: 20150007546
Abstract: A material collection system sensor includes a paddle pivotably mounted to a tunnel on a collection container floor. The forward end of the paddle is adjacent a front of the collection container and the rearward end is adjacent a rear of the collection container. A switch mounted to the tunnel under the paddle has an actuator extending above the tunnel that is actuatable by downward pivotal movement of the paddle. A sensitivity adjuster attached to the tunnel under the paddle has a sensitivity adjustment knob outside the collection container which compresses or relaxes a spring extending upwardly against the paddle.
