  • Patent number: 11714141
Abstract: A method for determining a connection status of a device to a cable within a network environment is provided. The method comprises obtaining a signal from a non-data carrying wire of the cable by a detector that is digitally isolated from data transmitted in a data carrying wire of the cable within the network environment, modifying the signal transmitted by the non-data carrying wire to the device and evaluating the modified signal to determine a connection status of the device to the cable.

  • Publication number: 20230067534
Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for detecting connections between components, such as 3D-printed components, using RFID tags, readers, and/or writers. For example, an RFID reader may read an identification code from an RFID tag that is at least partially 3D-printed as part of a first 3D-printed component to verify the connection to a second 3D-printed component. In various examples, the RFID reader may detect different identification codes depending on whether the first 3D-printed component is correctly connected to the second 3D-printed component, incorrectly connected to the second 3D-printed component, and/or connected to the second 3D-printed component in the past.

  • Publication number: 20230053666
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for scanning a flow of parts or products of many various types and formats. The apparatus comprises a plurality of light sources and a plurality of detectors located around a scanning volume to observe build parts or products in the scanning volume from different observation angles, the light sources each to direct light of separate wavelengths over a respective field of view. Each detector has at least one filter to isolate at the detector light from one of the light sources from light from the other of the light sources. The apparatus also includes a controller to operate a plurality of the light sources, detectors and filters to form measurement groups to scan the observable surface of objects in the scanning volume simultaneously from different observation angles, to obtain scanning data for generating a 3D model.

  • Publication number: 20220141032
Abstract: A method and system for certifying an interaction of an infrastructure component with a device in the course of the device lifecycle are described. The method comprises accessing device identification data that identifies the device, generating validation data on the basis of device identification data and component identification data to certify an interaction of the device with the infrastructure component and communicating a request to store the validation data in a secure ledger. The secure ledger comprises a ledger entry for each interaction of the device with an infrastructure component.

  • Publication number: 20220116786
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed. The method comprises receiving, by a mobile computing device, from an output device communicatively coupled to the mobile computing device, location data defining an identity of the output device and/or a location of the output device; generating, by the mobile computing device, response data defining an identity of the mobile computing device and defining the identity of the output device and/or the location of the output device based on the output data; generating, by the mobile computing device, authentication data to authenticate the response data; and outputting, by the mobile computing device, the response data and the authentication data for communication to a remote computer located remotely of the mobile computing device.

  • Publication number: 20190304001
Abstract: As products and services architectures increasingly use a modular approach, the use of configurators needed to assemble bundles increases correspondingly Situation: Configurators are typically focused on creating one bundle at a time. Each bundle is made of various parts selected from a given catalog in a way that they all work together. Configurators help customer visualize the bundle obtained and understand its characteristics (For example pricing, weight, consumption, shipping cost . . . ) Complication: There are situations where customers may want to combine in different ways (use-cases) two (or more) parts from one (or several) configured bundles. In such a case they may have to try various bundle configurations to visualize possible resulting use-cases. As the number of parts increases per bundle and the number of bundles increases, the combination of possible use-cases increases even more. Figuring out use-case from bundles becomes a lengthy task.
