  • Patent number: 11941421
Abstract: A method for evaluating metrics associated with isolated execution environments utilized for synthetic monitoring of a web application and modifying the quantity of isolation execution environments hosted by a particular hosting service at a particular geographic location based on the metrics. The method can include receiving an instruction to monitor computing resources at the particular geographic location; obtaining configuration data for the particular geographic location; communicating a request to the particular hosting provider for an identification of a collection of isolated execution environments that are instantiated at the particular geographic location; obtaining metrics associated with the collection of isolated execution environments; evaluating the metrics against the set of scaling criteria; and/or generating an instruction for the particular hosting provider to modify the quantity of the collection of isolated execution environments.

  • Patent number: 8204203
Abstract: A method of managing communications received by a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) terminating at a residence associated with a subscriber is disclosed. The DSL is divided into one baseband line, one or more derived lines and a data connection. A query is received from a Service Control Point (SCP) for subscriber preferences for handling an incoming communication. The query is translated into an Internet Protocol (IP) message and communicated to a web server. A Common Gateway Interface (CGI) application module is invoked that corresponds to the particular type of communication being sent to the residence. The subscriber's preferences for handling the particular type of communication are retrieved from a database. Based on the retrieved preferences and invoked CGI application, call handling instructions are sent to the SCP.

  • Publication number: 20090201372
Abstract: A method and apparatus for integrated ATM surveillance of an area of interest, such as an automated teller machine (ATM), is presented. An embodiment includes a surveillance system for an ATM utilizing multiple cameras aimed at the user, the card slot, the cash dispenser, the surrounding areas and internally in the card reader (to link the card used to the ATM user). The cameras are constantly powered and begin to record images after a sensor is activated. A buffer of recorded imagery is maintained such that when the sensors are activated, the video processing equipment can store a pre-defined amount of time before the sensor is activated. The buffer allows for the video capture of events just prior to the activation of the sensor. A time stamp and any other relevant data from the cameras may also be included with the stored recorded video.
