  • Publication number: 20200232958
Abstract: A packaging material for use in a package having contents including a food item, the packaging material includes a layer including an additive transformable from a first state to a second state in response to an external stimulus and a barrier layer positionable between said layer and the contents of the package. The barrier layer restricts diffusion of said additive to the contents.

  • Patent number: 8336713
Abstract: A packaging container (10; 100) for transporting and displaying a plurality of individually packaged products (25; 25?) is formed from a blank and comprises at least a base (14; 14?) and side walls (20, 22; 20?, 22?). Tabs (60; 102, 104) are provided along opposing side walls and project into the interior volume for contact with products (25; 25?) to hold them in an upright or display position. Each tab (60; 102, 104) comprises a portion of the side wall which is bent inwardly out of the plane of the side wall about a fold line (62; 62?) leaving an aperture in the side wall. Prior to bending, each tab is surrounded about its free edge(s) by a cut-out (63, FIG. 4) such that the surface area of the tab is less than the surface area of the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20110186461
Abstract: A packaging container (10) formed from at least one blank of foldable material has a base (16) and side walls (18) which define an interior volume in which packaged products (26) are contained for transport and display purposes. The base has a plurality of inwardly extending protrusions (74) for engagement with the products to prevent them slipping whilst on display. The protrusions (74) may be formed by embossing the base or by means of die-cut tabs in the base which are pressed inwardly. The container (10) may be transported and/or stored on its side or whilst inverted so that the products do not flatten the protrusions.
