  • Patent number: 7885389
Abstract: The provision of subscriber service features is one of the tasks of exchanges in classic TDM networks. This includes e.g., announcements and interactive responses. According to the prior art, these announcements and interactive responses are either provided by peripheral devices of the exchange which are equipped with the appropriate function or by external announcement and interactive response systems. The latter are provided either in TDM networks with proprietary interfaces or in packet networks with standardized interfaces. The invention solves the problem of providing the service for classic TDM networks by providing that the known packet-based method for controlling an external system for providing announcements and interactive responses is transferred to an exchange located in the classical TDM network.

  • Patent number: 7564807
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling recorded announcements and interactive voice responses for calls made outside an exchange, using a packet network (PN), by means of peripheral equipment (LTG) of a switching system, which does not provide any HW-oriented tasks for its interface system controlled by switching technology, whereby peripheral equipment (LTG) with virtual ports is defined. The method is characterised in that resources for the recorded announcement and interactive voice response function are provided by an external device, that the peripheral equipment is provided with virtual recorded announcement and interactive voice response ports, that an interface exists between the peripheral equipment and the external device and that the external resources can be used in relation to a specific port by the switching system.

  • Publication number: 20080192729
Abstract: In one aspect, a multimedia gateway for connecting a first computer network to a non-compatible second computer network is provided. The gateway having a first function block, a second function block and a third function block. The first function block establishes a multimedia data transmission with subscribers of the first computer network according to the specific protocols of the first network, the useful data, signaling data, and performance characteristics being buffered separately in respectively associated first signaling-specific, state-sensitive stacks. The second function block establishes a multimedia data transmission with subscribers of the second computer network according to the specific protocols of the second network, the useful data, signaling data, and performance characteristics being buffered separately in respectively associated second signaling-specific, state-sensitive stacks.

  • Patent number: 7058045
Abstract: A method and a network element for processing signaling data and for controlling connections of subscribers of a packet-switching communications network. A network element actuates a concentrator interface using at least one connecting unit and makes resources available to it. Signaling data for performing subscriber signaling of a subscriber of the packet-switching communications network is transmitted between at least one packet control unit and the connecting unit via a message control system of the network element. The packet control unit converts the signaling data of the network element into signaling packets of the packet-switching communications network and vice versa. The signaling packets are transmitted between the network element and the subscriber.
