    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system for protecting content, perhaps an application, from being installed on a system on which it is not intended for installation, or perhaps is not licensed. The content may be protected by an installation wrapper that requires a password before installation or unlocking. A setup program may be provided which searches persistent memory for one or more key data points at one or more locations, and if found, provides the password to the installation wrapper for proper installation of the content.
