  • Publication number: 20240158641
Abstract: The present technology generally relates to a method for recovering carbon black (rCB) from a vulcanized polymer matrix, the method comprising performing oxidative desulfurization of the vulcanized polymer matrix with an aqueous chloramine solution. The present technology also relates to compositions comprising rCB obtained from the methods defined herein.

  • Patent number: 9458303
Abstract: Present embodiments provide efficient and cost-effective use of chloramines such as monochloramine, NH2Cl, to degrade styrene butadiene rubber, a material from which tires and other products are made, so that it can be recycled, and do so by overcoming the limitations of monochloramine due to its thermodynamic instability by achieving and maintaining adequate monochloramine concentrations for the degrading process.

Date of Patent: October 4, 2016
Assignee: UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE RESEARCH FOUNDATION, INC.
Inventors: Gerold A. Willing, Patrick Kroeger
  • Patent number: 8825286
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for determining a center of gravity of a motor vehicle are described. In said method and apparatus, for at least one wheel of the motor vehicle, two different drive force values representing a drive force are determined. In addition, longitudinal acceleration values associated with the determined drive force values, and wheel slip values associated with the determined drive force values, are determined. As a function of the drive force values, the associated longitudinal acceleration values and the associated wheel slip values that are determined, coordinates of the center of gravity of the vehicle are determined.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 25, 2009
Date of Patent: September 2, 2014
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
    Inventor: Patrick Kroeger
  • Patent number: 8473174
Abstract: In a method for determining the vehicle longitudinal velocity in a vehicle, a wheel longitudinal force is determined in an estimation equation as a function of the wheel speeds and the vehicle longitudinal velocity is ascertained as a function of the wheel longitudinal force.
