    Abstract: A computer-implemented method is disclosed that operates a domain name system by using a blockchain. The blockchain includes a smart contract. The smart contract handles at least one domain name non-fungible-token DN NFT, the DN NFT includes a domain name and an IP address that is assigned to the domain name. The smart contract receives a request with a domain name to resolve an IP address for the domain name, searches, by using the domain name, the DN NFT that comprises the corresponding domain name and the IP address, and outputs the IP address that is assigned to the domain name in the DN NFT.
