  • Publication number: 20230100051
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture to service workloads locally at a computing device are disclosed. An example apparatus includes processor circuitry to instantiate application circuitry to, after determining that the container is locally available to execute the workload, transmit an application programming interface (API) call to local API gateway circuitry using a system local network stack Internet protocol (IP) address; the local API gateway circuitry to identify service container circuitry to execute the workload based on the API call; and the service container circuitry to utilize the container to execute the workload to generate an output; and the local API gateway circuitry to forward the output to the application circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20220200788
Abstract: Technologies for accelerated key caching in an edge hierarchy include multiple edge appliance devices organized in tiers. An edge appliance device receives a request for a key, such as a private key. The edge appliance device determines whether the key is included in a local key cache and, if not, requests the key from an edge appliance device included in an inner tier of the edge hierarchy. The edge appliance device may request the key from an edge appliance device included in a peer tier of the edge hierarchy. The edge appliance device may activate per-tenant accelerated logic to identify one or more keys in the key cache for eviction. The edge appliance device may activate per-tenant accelerated logic to identify one or more keys for pre-fetching. Those functions of the edge appliance device may be performed by an accelerator such as an FPGA. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20200287813
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for workload feedback mechanisms facilitating a closed loop architecture. Platform telemetry data is collected from a server platform including one or more hardware components and running one or more virtual network functions (VNFs). A workload performance associated one or more VNFs or one or more applications associated with the one or more VNFs is monitored to detect whether the performance of a VNF or application fails to meet a performance criteria, such as a Service Level Agreement (SLA) metric, and corresponding performance indicia is generated by the VNF. Based on the platform telemetry data and the performance indicia, an operational configuration of one of more of the hardware components is adjusted to increase the workload performance to meet or exceed the performance criteria.

  • Publication number: 20200186592
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for scale out hardware-assisted tracing schemes for distributed and scale-out applications. In connection with execution of one or more applications using a distributed processing environment including multiple compute nodes, telemetry and tracing data are obtained using hardware-based logic on the compute nodes. Processes associated with applications are identified, as well as the compute nodes on which instances of the processes are executed. Process instances are associated with process application space identifiers (PASIDs), while processes used for an application are associating with a global group identifier (GGID) that serves as an application ID. The PASIDs and GGIDs are used to store telemetry and/or tracing data on the compute nodes and/or forward such data to a tracing server in a manner that enables telemetry and/or tracing data to be aggregated on an application basis.

  • Patent number: 10554513
Abstract: Technologies for filtering network packets on ingress include a network interface controller (NIC) to retrieve classification filters based on packet classification identifying information of a network packet received by the NIC, wherein each of the classification filters is usable to identify rules for identifying any operations to be performed on at least a portion of the received network packet. The NIC is further configured to compare the first classification filter to the packet classification identifying information to determine whether the determined packet classification identifying information meets criteria of the first classification filter. Additionally, the NIC is configured to associate a classification filter identifier of the first classification filter with the received network packet and send the received network packet and the classification filter identifier of the first classification filter to a processor of an apparatus associated with the NIC. Other embodiments are described herein.

  • Publication number: 20090132839
Abstract: A method and device may selectively resume a computing device from a low power state according to a security policy. The security policy may be embedded in the hardware of the computing device and may be enforced even when the device is in a low power state. Such a policy may provide protection from hacker and virus based denial of service attacks using a flood of packets formatted to provide a wake event request. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
