  • Publication number: 20130030868
Abstract: A set of enrollment buckets are allocated to a business unit and are subdivided such that a portion of the enrollment buckets are allocated to at least one test. A user ID can be hashed using a first hash function to map the user to one of the enrollment buckets. A set of test buckets are also subdivided such that a portion of the buckets are allocated to one or more test groups and a portion of the test buckets are allocated to the control group. If the user was mapped to a bucket that is allocated to test in the set of enrollment buckets, the user ID will again be hashed using a second hash function to map the user to one of the test buckets.

  • Publication number: 20130031228
Abstract: A set of enrollment hash slots are allocated to a business unit and are subdivided such that a portion of the enrollment hash slots are allocated to at least one test group. A user ID associated with a user can be hashed using a first hash function to map the user to one of the enrollment hash slots. A set of test hash slots are also subdivided such that a portion of the hash slots are allocated to a test version and a portion of the test hash slots are allocated to a control group. If the user was mapped to a hash slot that is allocated to test in the set of enrollment hash slots, the user ID will again be hashed using a second hash function to map the user to one of the test hash slots.

  • Patent number: 7512966
Abstract: A system and method for visually rendering resource policy usage information are provided. The system and method make use of policy performance data and relative weighting values of policies to generate, for each system resource, a graphical representation of the system resource with regard to the affect of policies on their behavior within the IT infrastructure. The resulting visual depiction of the IT infrastructure provides a visual representation that quickly communicates to the user which resources have the most/least policies guiding their behavior and the frequency of evaluation of these policies. For example, a large graphical element with a negative color may alert the user that the system resource is heavily affected by policies but that the policies are not being evaluated frequently enough.

  • Patent number: 6556560
Abstract: In a method for reducing latency in packet telephony caused by buffering at the conversion stage between analog audio signals and digital audio data, analog audio is sampled at a rate far greater than necessary for telephony. The increased sampling rate allows the audio data to pass much more rapidly through the data conversion buffer. After passing through the buffer, the data is downsampled to a rate normally used for telephony. To handle audio data for speaker output, the data is upsampled to a rate far in excess of the rate necessary for processing telephony-grade voice signals. The increased sampling rate allows the audio data to pass much more rapidly through the data conversion buffer. After passing through the buffer, the data is converted into an analog audio signal for sending to the speaker. In this way, latency due to the buffering that accompanies the process of converting audio signals to digital data, or vice versa, is minimized.
