  • Patent number: 7748341
Abstract: An apparatus for coating the surface of a lens includes a carousel having a central hub and a plurality of arms. A drive shaft is mounted to each arm, with a magnetic clutch and a lens holder being operatively attached to the drive shaft. The carousel is configured to be raised, rotated, and lowered into a series of workstations for processing the lens in a predetermined sequence. A workstation has associated therewith a spin drive attached to a reciprocating arm assembly. The spin drive includes a magnetic clutch which may be coupled to the magnetic clutch of any one of the arms on the carousel, such that a rotation generated by the spin drive is transferred to the drive shaft, and the lens holder. The arm assembly is capable of being extended and retracted to selectively engage and disengage the carousel.

  • Publication number: 20090212669
Abstract: A storage unit comprises an arm assembly that can be stored inside the unit and extended along a range of positions outside the unit and a moveable panel which conceals the interior of the storage unit frame coupled with the storage unit frame by a connector. The storage unit can be integrated into an article of furniture such as a headboard or a chair. A four-bar linkage assembly can be used to connect the moveable panel to the storage unit frame and can permit the panel to remain substantially parallel to the frame along its range of motion.

  • Patent number: 5613746
Abstract: A desk assembly (10) is disclosed comprising first and second pedestal units (12, 14), each comprising first and second side panels (18,20), first and second edge panels (30,32), and a frontward panel (22), with corner posts (34,36) formed interposed between the edge and side panels, and the side and frontward panels. The pedestals are integrally formed as a coplanar form with elastomeric hinges (42, 44, 46, and 48) formed to connect the corner posts to the edge, side, and frontward panels. The pedestal units are reconfigured from the flat manufactured form into a box form by pivotal movement of the side and edge panels, facilitated by the elastomeric hinges. The pedestal units further include a back panel (28) that attaches to back surfaces of the edge panels (30,32) to connect the edge panels together and to maintain the pedestal unit in its box form.
