  • Patent number: 8992646
Abstract: Systems and apparatuses are described that collect dust from the air in a manner that maximizes the volume of air that can be cleaned, while allowing for easier transport of the dust-collecting apparatus to the installation site and improving distribution of air flow within the apparatus so as to provide for a more efficient filtration of the air. In particular, the dust-collecting apparatus includes first and second housing modules that are designed to be joined longitudinally to create a housing. The module having an inlet opening of the apparatus further includes an inlet baffling system that includes multiple baffle plates near the inlet opening that facilitate a cross flow air profile for the air entering the housing. Other components, including a target plate, a baffle support structure having support plates and cross supports, and hopper baffles, may also be provided to secure the baffle plates and enhance the airflow distribution.

  • Patent number: 8961638
Abstract: A dust-collecting apparatus is described that includes a lift-off door assembly that provides access to the interior of the dust-collecting apparatus while minimizing the adverse effects on the normal operation of the apparatus by maintaining a proper seal between the interior and the exterior of the apparatus. In particular, the lift-off door assembly includes a top plate, a door frame, and a bottom plate. The top plate is secured to the door frame. Lift clips are provided about a perimeter of the bottom plate and are secured to the bottom plate. Lifting ends of the lift clips are positioned over an outer portion of the door frame, such that when a lifting force is applied to the top plate, the top plate, door frame, and bottom plate are lifted together via the lift clips to move the lift-off door assembly from the closed position to the open position.

  • Patent number: 5676761
Abstract: An anode rough cleaning system has three rough cleaning stations and an overhead conveyor to move spent anode assemblies sequentially through the three stations. The overhead conveyor supports each spent anode assembly in a hanging vertical position with the carbon butt suspended therebeneath. A first station is a vibrating station which vibrates the carbon butt to separate the bath material from the carbon butt. The vibrating station has an inclined surface and a vibrating surface. The overhead conveyor is arranged over the inclined and vibrating surfaces to drag the carbon butt up the inclined surface, causing the spent anode assembly to rotate from the vertical position to an angled position, and then across the vibrating surface with the spent anode assembly in the angled position. A second station is a scraping station positioned downstream of the vibrating station. The scraping station has at least one scraper to scrape the bath material from the carbon butt and stub.
