Abstract: Support braces and methods of manufacturing the same are disclosed. A support brace includes a flexible fabric substrate and an elastomeric member disposed on the surface of the flexible fabric substrate. The elastomeric member is disposed so as to apply pressure non-uniformly about a limb or joint of the wearer, in a pattern selected to divert pain and/or reduce loads on the joint. The flexible fabric substrate can include regions having different levels of elasticity, to provide different levels of compression to different parts of the joint or limb in addition to the compression provided by the elastomeric member. The elastomeric member can be deposited, screen printed, injection molded, or otherwise applied to the fabric substrate, optionally without adhesive.

  • Patent number: 11841216
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for dimensioning a moving freight in motion along a path. An example system includes a plurality of laser line generators configured to emit coplanar laser beams forming a laser curtain oriented perpendicular to the floor and angled towards the direction of the path of the moving freight. A camera is configured to capture a series of two-dimensional images of the freight as it passes through the laser curtain. Additionally a positioning sensor is configured to detect the position and orientation of the moving freight as it passes through the laser curtain. A computing device in communication with the camera and the positioning sensor correlates each successive two-dimensional image with each corresponding position and orientation of the freight to obtain a composite three-dimensional shape of the freight. Furthermore, the computing device processes the composite three-dimensional shape of the freight to dimension the freight.

  • Patent number: 11771578
Abstract: A cross-strap tensioning apparatus is disclosed for use with a brace having a proximal portion engageable above a joint of a user and an opposing distal portion engageable below the joint. In at least one embodiment, the apparatus provides first and second cross-straps each extending between and interconnecting the proximal and distal portions of the brace. A terminal end of each of a first anterior strap portion and a spaced apart first posterior strap portion of the first cross-strap, along with a second anterior strap portion and a spaced apart second posterior strap portion of the second cross-strap, provides a cord channel configured for allowing a cord from a tensioning mechanism to extend therethrough in series. During use, as the tensioning mechanism is selectively tightened, the cord urges each of the first anterior strap portion, first posterior strap portion, second anterior strap portion and second posterior strap portion closer together.

  • Patent number: 11764469
Abstract: The trirectangular tetrahedron array provides nearly constant gain over a hemisphere, by adaptively combining signals from elements, having substantially cosine-squared power patterns, on orthogonal faces. By using a deterministic aperiodic lattice, the array can use higher gain elements rather than lower gain elements for traditional wide-scan phased arrays. Thus, the number of elements needed can be reduced by more than a factor of two. Importantly, element spacing is increased with this design, thus lowering mutual coupling and the associated potential for scan blindness. Higher gain elements require spacing exceeding ½ wavelength can have grating lobes. This is addressed with an aperiodic lattice designed to ensure that no grating lobe can form. By connecting two trirectangular tetrahedrons by their bases and mounting on an air/space-based platform, nearly spherical coverage with constant gain results.
