Abstract: Methods and systems for forming a composite part. The methods include providing a layup model and characterizing the specific overlap ratio (SOR) in discretized sections of the layup model. The layup model can be modified until an acceptable range of SOR values is achieved along the length of the part. Once an acceptable range of SOR values is achieved, the resulting production model is used to produce the part, for example, using an automated fiber placement (AFP) process.

Abstract: A device for filling a medicament delivery device (e.g., a patch pump) with medicament or fluid and inserting a cannula subcutaneously enables improved results and user safety, while simplifying the set up process for a user. The device can include a housing with a first chamber portion having a first deployment mechanism and a second chamber portion having a second deployment mechanism. The device can also include a trigger mounted to the housing to activate at least one of the first deployment mechanism and the second deployment mechanism and an interface adapted to mate releasably with the medicament delivery device. The filling of the device with medicament and the insertion of the cannula may occur sequentially or simultaneously, and both actions can be initiated by a single user step or a limited number of user steps, as compared to conventional approaches.

The cleaning machine includes base having a hopper integrally formed therein, distribution slots on the bottom of the hopper, a rotary powder agitator inside the hopper, wheels for supporting the base over a floor surface and for rotating the powder agitator, a metering gate for controlling the dispensing of the dry carpet cleaning powder, a trigger located on the cleaner handle for controlling the metering gate, and a plurality of motor driven vertical axis rotary brushes for working the dry carpet cleaning powder into the carpet. The dry carpet cleaning powder is dispensed onto the carpet and allowed to sit for a short period of time to allow the dry carpet cleaning powder to absorb the dirt contained in the carpet.

The docking assembly has an inlet and an outlet that is adapted to receive the pressurized flow of breathable gas, and is also adapted to be connected with the patient circuit. The tank is constructed and arranged to be removably connected with the docking assembly, and enables the pressurized flow of breathable gas to pass therethrough. The tank is also adapted to contain a liquid such that a humidity level of the pressurized flow of breathable gas is elevated as the pressurized flow of breathable gas passes therethrough.

Abstract: A hand-grippable adhesive tape applicator is provided for building construction and other environments. Pressure feedback and integrated slidable cutting mechanism features are included which provide improved tape application performance. Unique tape supply spool and take-up reel assemblies also are provided which enhance tape applicator performance. A patterned applicator roller also is provided to allow tape application to be performed with reduced user-applied force.

Abstract: A battery has an outer casing, an electrolyte located within the outer casing, an additive located within the outer casing and separated from the electrolyte, and a power mode increasing device located within the outer casing. The battery operates in a low power mode. The power mode increasing device combines the electrolyte and the additive causing the battery to operate in a high power mode. The power generated by the battery operating in the high power mode is greater than the power generated by the battery operating in the low power mode.
