Abstract: Techniques are provided for the configuration of a home-networking system. Home-networking configuration information may be stored on a host system in a manner accessible to the home-networking system and migrated to a home-networking gateway or router that has not yet been configured. Wireless configuration information may be stored on a home-networking gateway or router and used to configure one or more wireless access points through the use of a physical connection, such as a wired communications pathway. One or more wireless home-networking devices may be configured based on wireless configuration information stored in a central repository on a host system or a home-networking system. The wireless configuration information may be accessible only through the use of a security code.

The protocol server module translates data packets from the source between the first protocol and a second protocol that is different from the first protocol and transports the data packets having the second protocol to the destination. A controller module generally also is included on the client device. The protocol server module may include a PPP server module located on the client device.

Abstract: To protect a client system from unauthorized programs, a scanner application for detecting particular unauthorized programs is maintained on a host system and periodically provided to a client system that executes the scanner application. Targeted solutions to particular types of unauthorized programs also are maintained on the host system and provided to the client system. If the scanner application detects an unauthorized program on the client system, a remedy that is targeted only to the detected unauthorized program is programmatically initiated to remedy the problem of the detected unauthorized program.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system, method, and apparatus for orienting images. A neural net is trained with images of known orientation and an indicator indicating such known orientation. Images of unknown orientation are then input to the neural net and the orientation is determined based on the output of the neural net.
