  • Patent number: 11817976
Abstract: A method for adaptive coding and modulation. The method includes generating a set of mapping functions and transmitting a tth set of transmit symbols where 1?t?T and T is a maximum number of symbol transmissions. Transmitting the tth set of transmit symbols includes transmitting each transmit symbol in the tth set of transmit symbols. Each transmit symbol is transmitted by a respective transmitter. Transmitting each transmit symbol includes generating a tth set of mapped symbols, generating each transmit symbol from the tth set of mapped symbols, and transmitting each transmit symbol. Generating the tth set of mapped symbols includes applying a mapping functions subset of the set of mapping functions on a respective data vector. Each mapping function in the mapping functions subset depends on a respective mapped symbol in an rth set of mapped symbols where 0?r?T.

  • Patent number: 11196598
Abstract: Aspects of the present application provide methods and devices for using a combined QAM and APSK modulation scheme in a hybrid modulation form in order to benefit from advantages of each respective modulation scheme. The proposed hybrid modulation scheme is less sensitive to phase noise and has lower PAPR than QAM and has very similar performance as QAM with respect to AWGN.

  • Patent number: 7564917
Abstract: Embodiments of system and method for generating common phase error (CPE) estimates in a multicarrier receiver are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, the CPE estimates may be generated for each channel between two or more transmit antennas and the multicarrier receiver.

  • Publication number: 20080003948
Abstract: Various embodiments of calibration systems and techniques for distributed beamforming are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus may comprise a first transmitter node to cooperate with a second transmitter node for cooperatively communicating with a receiver node. Effective channel knowledge may be acquired for channels between the first and second transmitter nodes and the receiver node. The transmit and receive chains of the first and second transmitter nodes may be calibrated based on the effective channel knowledge. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
