  • Patent number: 11090753
Abstract: A system and method for determining weld travel speed. In one example, a welding system includes one or more sensors configured to provide a first indication correspond to a welding arc at a first time and to provide a second indication correspond to the welding arc at a second time. The welding system also includes processing circuitry configured to receive the first indication, to receive the second indication, and to determine a weld travel speed based on a weld length of the workpiece and a difference between the first and second times.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 2014
Date of Patent: August 17, 2021
    Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.
Inventors: Jyi-Jiin Luo, Christopher J. Nelli, Todd Earl Holverson, Andrew Patrick Mulroy
  • Patent number: 10520539
Abstract: A system for detecting and indicating partial discharges and voltage. The system allows capturing signals from the electric power system and/or the electrical equipment thereof, and detecting and indicating the presence or absence of partial discharges and voltage, which allows carrying out a quick and simple inspection in order to prevent faults in the distribution elements, preventing risks and performing suitable installation maintenance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 2017
Date of Patent: December 31, 2019
Assignee: Ormazabal Protection & Automation, S.L.U.
Inventors: Juan Antonio Sanchez Ruiz, Jagoba Perez Martinez, Jose Maria Rua Sanchez, Ian Gilbert, Aritz Hurtado Vicuña, Patrick Mulroy
  • Publication number: 20190184482
Abstract: A welding system includes a repositionable temperature sensor. The repositionable temperature sensor is configured to detect temperatures corresponding to a workpiece and to provide temperature data corresponding to the detected temperatures. The welding system also includes a power supply configured to receive the temperature data from the temperature sensor. The power supply is configured to modify control of an output of the power supply based on the detected temperature.
    Type: Application
    Filed: February 22, 2019
    Publication date: June 20, 2019
Inventors: Todd Earl Holverson, Joseph K. Fink, Andrew Patrick Mulroy, Jyi-Jiin Luo
