  • Patent number: 8499293
Abstract: A method and apparatus for optimizing a sequence of operations adapted for execution by a processor is disclosed to include associating with each register a symbolic expression selected from a set of possible symbolic expressions, locating an operation, if any, that is next within the sequence of operations and setting that operation to be a working operation, where the working operation has associated therewith a destination register and zero or more source registers, and processing the working operation when the working operation and any symbolic expressions of its source registers, if any, match at least one of a set of rules, where each rule specifies that the working operation must match a subset of the operation set, where each rule also specifies that the symbolic expressions, if any, of any source registers of the working operation must match a subset of the possible symbolic expressions, and where the rule also specifies a result, then posting the result as the symbolic expression of the destination

  • Patent number: 8119958
Abstract: A matrix of explosive cells can include plural explosive cells formed in an array in a common substrate. Each cell can be formed as a recess filled with explosive material. An ignition device has an addressable ignition source for each cell. This matrix can be used in combination with a projectile guidance system. The projectile guidance system includes an antenna, a transceiver and a control processor. A method of guiding a projectile can include firing a projectile at a target, tracking the projectile and the target, determining a desired change in a flight path of the projectile, transmitting guidance commands to effect the desired change in the projectile's flight path to the projectile, receiving the guidance commands onboard the projectile and selectively igniting an explosive cell in a matrix of addressable explosive cells contained in a common substrate using the guidance commands.

  • Publication number: 20110120764
Abstract: A conformal electro-magnetic (EM) shield and a method of applying such a shield are provided herein as well as variations thereof. Variations include, but are not limited to, frequency-selective shielding, shields containing active and/or passive electronic components, and strippable shields that can easily be applied to and removed from underlying components. Variations of a shield structure include at least an insulating layer between the underling component and the shield, and shielding and/or capping layers disposed over the insulating layer.

  • Patent number: 7937564
Abstract: A method and apparatus for optimizing a sequence of operations adapted for execution by a processor is disclosed to include associating a symbolic expression with each of at least a subset of the registers, holding a set of dependency indications that specify for each particular symbolic expression which, if any, of the other symbolic expressions must be emitted as operations prior to emitting the particular symbolic expression, locating an operation, if any, that is next within the sequence of operations and setting that operation to be a working operation and processing the working operation.

  • Publication number: 20110090658
Abstract: A protective, anti-tamper coating and methods of coating creation and application are provided. The coating may include an elastomeric layer to allow for strippability/removal. The coating may also include a “smart layer” for tamper detection, imaging prevention, and tamper prevention or underlying device de-activation/alteration upon tamper detection. The coating may also include one or more ground planes around the smart layer and one or more frangible layers designed to interrupt or alter smart layer function in the event of a tamper attempt.

  • Patent number: 7905504
Abstract: A seat (14), particularly but not exclusively for a wheelchair, comprises a bottom rest (13, 60), a back rest support (18) rotatable relative to the bottom rest about an axis of rotation (100); and a back rest (22) slidably mounted on the back rest support and moveable therealong to vary its position relative to the bottom rest. The back rest is kinematically linked to the bottom rest such that the back rest moves nearer to the axis of rotation as the angle between the back rest support and the bottom rest increases.

  • Patent number: 7870369
Abstract: A method of determining a reason for a trace to be aborted includes receiving at least two incoming indications of occurrences of abort triggers stemming from the execution of at least two of the operations that are different from each other, where each of the abort triggers has an associated abort priority level, and where the trace represents multiple instructions. The method further includes prioritizing among the abort triggers for the trace based on the abort priority level of each abort trigger, where the prioritizing does not take into account a correspondence between operations and instructions and where the prioritizing selects as a pending abort reason one or more of the abort triggers that have the same abort priority level, and where that abort priority level is the highest among the abort priority levels of the abort triggers for the trace.

  • Patent number: 7850188
Abstract: Apparatus for connecting together two objects comprises: a body for attachment to a first object and having a concave surface and a corresponding convex surface; a clamp for attachment to a second object and having a first jaw and a second jaw moveable relative to the first jaw, the first and second jaws being configured to engage respectively the concave and convex surfaces of the body when applying a clamping force thereto, wherein at least one jaw comprises at least one tooth configured to bite into the body as the clamping force is applied, thereby resisting movement between the body and the clamp. A chair, in particular a wheelchair for disabled persons, has one or more rests mounted on apparatus as detailed above.
