  • Publication number: 20190349748
Abstract: Systems and methods for obtaining electronic resources, including programming logic, on a mobile device use location data sent to a predefined network address. Location data representing the location of a mobile device is sent to a predefined network address which determines the appropriate electronic resources to return to the mobile device based upon the location data. The electronic resources themselves or references to the electronic resources are returned to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 8572440
Abstract: A system and method of identifying a memory includes detecting defects in regions of the memory, comparing the detected defects with defects contained in a previously-created defect map associated with the memory and stored in another memory of a device accessing the memory, confirming the identity of the memory where a result of the comparison indicates the detected defects match defects contained in the previously-created defect map; and denying the identity of the memory where the result of the comparison indicates the detected defects do not match the defects contained in the previously-created defect map.

  • Patent number: 8315619
Abstract: A device to automatically provide differing information levels according to a predetermined social hierarchy includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores social templates corresponding to unique social signatures and being selectable to provide, for each level of the predetermined social hierarchy, a corresponding differing amount of information to each member of the predetermined social hierarchy and/or a social networking service. The processor receives sensor data from a sensor set which detects sensor data related to an environment of a communication device, creates a detected social signature from the received sensor data, determines which of the social signatures of the social templates has the greatest correspondence with the created social signature, retrieves from the memory the determined one social template having the greatest correspondence, and provides only as much information as allowed in the retrieved social template.

  • Patent number: 7443057
Abstract: A wireless charging and power system for electronic devices and method for communicating power to a power receiver employing wireless energy transmission are disclosed. The remote charging system includes a power transmission unit, which transmits energy as a plurality of constructive transmitted frequencies, and a power receiver system that receives the transmitted frequencies. The power receiver system is preferably incorporated in a device and includes an energy receptor capable of receiving the wireless transmitted energy and transferring the energy from the transmitted frequencies to an energy storage device included in the device. The power transmission unit receives and tracks a power request signal from the power receiver system to track the power receiver system location during energy transmission. Data streams may be incorporated into the wireless signals of the remote charging system, allowing the remote charging system to function as a communications pathway as well as a power delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20030073424
Abstract: A method and system for completing a communication of high importance on a congested communication system. The communication is transmitted between a communication device (e.g. a cordless telephone, a cellular telephone, a pager, a digital communication device, a personal digital assistant, or a wireless local loop device) and a base station. If uncongested channels are not available for communications between the communication device and the base station, a disabling signal is transmitted instructing emitting devices in the vicinity to reduce their emitted transmissions, thereby creating uncongested channels. Additionally, the communication device and base station can incrementally increase the power of transmitted signals until communications are established.

  • Publication number: 20020184287
Abstract: A virtual machine instruction processor couples a small, localized embedded processor with a primitive state machine, which acts as a boot/interface function. The seed processor also includes a local random access memory (RAM) for buffering of data and execution and a read only memory (ROM) for storing the TCP/IP stack. The seed processor is connected to a remote virtual machine through communication controllers over a network such that the virtual machine is not co-located with the virtual machine instruction processor. The virtual machine instruction processor executes software local to the instruction processor without a co-located virtual machine.

  • Publication number: 20020108064
Abstract: A method and system for controlling the speed of a microprocessor in a microprocessor-controlled device when executing an application program retrieved from a remote repository. The program retrieved contains embedded instructions related to the processing power required to execute the program and maintain a specified quality of performance. The processor speed is adjusted consistent with the embedded instructions so that when necessary, the processor can function at a higher speed, consuming greater power, and when not necessary, the processor can return to consuming lower power at a low-speed state, to thereby conserve battery resources.
