  • Publication number: 20120049053
Abstract: A continuous time-of-flight scatter simulation method is provided, with a related method of correcting PET imaging data to compensate for photon scatter. Scatter contributions from each imaging pixel in a field of view may be calculated without binning data.

  • Publication number: 20110064295
Abstract: A diagnostic imaging device includes detector elements (16) for detecting ?- rays indicative of nuclear decay events. The detected ?-rays are used to produce lines of response (LORs) (46), which are time stamped (20) and stored in list mode. The LORs are reconstructed (34) into an image. An image analysis processor (38) analyzes the image for motion artifacts and iteratively adjusts an event transform processor (30) to transform selected LORs to minimize the motion artifacts. If the transformed LOR (50) does not correspond with a pair of detector elements (16), closest detector elements (52, 54) are determined. Candidate LORs (62) are created between the closest and neighboring detector elements. An event location (40) on an LOR (46) is determined from the time-of-flight (TOF) information and then transformed (47) to generate a transformed event location (48).

  • Publication number: 20070064867
Abstract: An apparatus for breast scanning to obtain functional and anatomical images of the breast comprises a patient support for a patient to rest in a prone position, the support having an opening with one of her breasts vertically pendent through the opening for scanning; a laser CT scanner disposed below the support for generating a first set of data for reconstruction of functional images of the breast; an X-ray CT scanner disposed below the support for generating a second set of data for reconstruction of anatomical images of the breast; and a display to visualize at least one of the functional and anatomical images.
