  • Patent number: 9640873
Abstract: The invention relates to a radar device (1) for a motor vehicle, having a radar apparatus (2) for emitting and receiving electromagnetic waves (4) and having at least one absorption element (9, 100), which is formed from an absorption material which absorbs the electromagnetic waves (4), wherein the at least one absorption element (9, 100) is embodied as an element which is separate from a housing (3) of the radar apparatus (2) and is arranged outside the housing (3), in particular on the housing (3).

  • Patent number: 8545266
Abstract: Plug connections on radar sensors include plug pins which are inserted into plastic. The plastic that surrounds the plug pins is at least partially provided with a granulate that absorbs radar waves, such that the electrical impedance of the plastic has a high value in low-frequency range, and the plastic comprises a characteristic which absorbs radar waves in a region of higher-frequency radar waves. The plug pins are surrounded by a thin layer of plastic without radar-absorbent granulate, and a remainder of an area surrounding the plug pins includes the plastic with the granulate which absorbs radar waves.

  • Publication number: 20110237128
Abstract: Plug connections are proposed on radar sensors having plug pins which are inserted into plastic, in which the plastic (5, 6; 11) which surrounds the plug pins (4) is at least partially provided with a granulate which absorbs radar waves, such that the electrical impedance of the plastic (5; 11) has a high value in the low-frequency range, and the plastic (6) has a characteristic which absorbs radar waves in the region of higher-frequency radar waves. For this purpose, the plug pins (4) can be surrounded by a layer of plastic (5; 11) without radar-absorbent granulate, and the rest of the area surrounding the plug pins (4) consists of the plastic (6) with the granulate which absorbs radar waves.
