  • Patent number: 12399207
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed to identify defects in a cable plant including a cable comprises a carriage and a roller attached to the carriage. The roller is configured to sit on a cable plant. A motor is attached to the carriage and is coupled to the roller to cause rotation of the roller in at least a first direction, to cause movement of the carriage across the cable plant. A transmitter is attached to the carriage and an antenna is coupled to the transmitter. The antenna is configured to emit an RF signal under the control of the transmitter. If there is a defect in the cable, the RF signal may enter the cable through a defect. Detection of the RF signal in the cable is indicative of the presence of a defect in the cable and the location of the defect. Methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20250264515
Abstract: A computing system comprising a drone detects a signal leakage in an above-ground cabling infrastructure. The computing system determines that a cable system component of the above-ground cabling infrastructure is a source of the signal leakage based at least in part on an amplitude of the signal leakage. The computing system sends, to a destination device, a notification that identifies the cable system component.

  • Patent number: 12273657
Abstract: A computing system receives at least one first image of a first device affixed to a structure above ground. The computing system determines that the at least one first image depicts a CATV tap comprising a plurality of coaxial connectors. The computing system determines, based in part on the at least one first image and a set of coaxial cables, each coaxial cable connected to a coaxial connector of the plurality of coaxial connectors, that a use status of the CATV tap is an authorized use status or an unauthorized use status. The computing system performs an action based on the use status.

  • Publication number: 20240098006
Abstract: A control message is generated by a source device, the control message including an indication that least one intermediate device in a path of devices between the source device and a destination device is to send a plurality of ICMP echo requests to a next device in the path of devices. The source device sends, to the at least one intermediate device, the control message. The source device receives, from the at least one intermediate device, a control message response originating from the destination device, the control message response comprising, for each respective intermediate device of the at least one intermediate device, round trip time information derived from a plurality of ICMP echo requests issued by the respective intermediate device to a corresponding next device in the path of devices.
