  • Patent number: 4891268
Abstract: A coated metal substrate protected against corrosion with a lubricious coating which, exclusive of lubricant, is resin-free and phosphate-free, which coating contains hexavalent-chromium, particulate metal and a lubricant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 27, 1988
Date of Patent: January 2, 1990
    Assignee: Metal Coatings International Inc.
Inventors: Michel Fourez, Michel Lonca, Patrick Pichant
  • Patent number: 4799959
Abstract: The present invention relates to improved coating compositions intended to improve the characteristics of a metal substrate, especially threaded substrates. The composition incorporates at least a liquid composition containing hexavalent chromium, and a powdered metal. The composition additionally incorporates a lubricant which is solid at the temperature of use of the substrate. The invention also relates to a process for making use of these compositions and to threaded components coated in this manner.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 6, 1987
Date of Patent: January 24, 1989
Inventors: Michel Fourez, Michel Lonca, Patrick Pichant
  • Patent number: 4701382
Abstract: A new liquid coating composition contains a binder (such as a phenoxy resin), an electrically conductive pigment (such as zinc dust), and at least two solid, powdered lubricants, at least one of the lubricants being an inorganic lubricant (such as molybdenum disulphide). These coating compositions are useful for coating metal substrates, particularly where the metal substrate is to be deformed (such as by stamping) and/or welded.
