  • Publication number: 20100186373
Abstract: An electric power system includes a genset with an electric power generator, an internal combustion engine driving the electric power generator, and an electric heating device. This device may be used to selectively regenerate an exhaust treatment subsystem and/or to otherwise selectively increase load on the engine. In one application, the system is carried by a vehicle propelled by another engine. In another application, the system is structured to provide back-up power to an AC power bus, and is typically stationary.

  • Publication number: 20100043732
Abstract: A system and method for reducing fouling. In one embodiment, the system includes a housing and a plurality of channels contained within the housing. The system also includes a fouling reduction element that passes through at least one channel of the plurality of channels, wherein the fouling reduction element is movable such that it reduces fouling inside of the at least one channel. According to the system and method disclosed herein, the fouling reduction element efficiently cleans the inside of the channels of the cooling system.

  • Publication number: 20070119153
Abstract: An urea SCR system for enhancing internal combustion engine aftertreatment applications includes a supply tank containing aqueous urea, a delivery pump operatively connected to the supply tank and configured for elevating the pressure of aqueous urea drawn from said supply tank. The urea SCR system further includes a conduit arrangement connecting the delivery pump to an injection nozzle which is positioned adjacent an exhaust stream, the conduit arrangement being configured for the delivery of aqueous urea to the injection nozzle. Downstream of the delivery pump and upstream from the injection nozzle, a heating element is positioned for preheating of the aqueous urea to a superheated condition prior to injection into the exhaust stream.

  • Patent number: 5713340
Abstract: A hybrid gaseous fueling system having a low pressure supply and a high pressure supply is disclosed. This system provides the advantages of fueling with a low pressure charge during steady state operation and also provides a way to more rapidly smooth engine transients resulting from changes in engine operating characteristics such as speed or load by modulating high pressure fueling of the engine. Furthermore, air/fuel ratio control may be readily integrated into this system. In addition, start-up of the engine is performed using more fuel from the high pressure supply than the low pressure supply up to a predetermined level of engine operation. At that level and beyond, low pressure fueling is greater than high pressure fueling.
