  • Publication number: 20160032303
Abstract: Methods for producing pathogen-inducible promoters for the expression of genes in plants are provided. The pathogen-inducible promoters are inducible by one, two, three, or more plant pathogens. Methods for producing R genes that are inducible in a plant by more than one plant pathogen are further provided.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 5, 2015
    Publication date: February 4, 2016
Inventors: Thomas Lahaye, Patrick Römer, Sebastian Schornack, Jens Boch, Ulla Bonas
  • Patent number: 9133467
Abstract: Methods for producing pathogen-inducible promoters for the expression of genes in plants are provided. The pathogen-inducible promoters are inducible by one, two, three, or more plant pathogens. Methods for producing R genes that are inducible in a plant by more than one plant pathogen are further provided. Additionally, provided are R genes and other nucleic acid molecules comprising the pathogen-inducible promoters and that are made by such methods as well as plants, plant parts, plant cells, seeds, and non-human host cells comprising the R genes and other nucleic acid molecules.

  • Patent number: 8198510
Abstract: Isolated nucleic acid molecules that confer resistance to the plant pathogen Xanthomonas campestris are provided. These molecules may be introduced into plants that are otherwise susceptible to infection by this bacterium in order to enhance the resistance of the plant to this plant pathogen. Additionally provided are isolated polypeptides and isolated nucleic acid molecules comprising plant promoters. Methods of using the nucleic acid molecules to increase the resistance of plants to pathogens and to express genes of interest in plants are provided.
