  • Patent number: 7766037
Abstract: A gas valve assembly includes a solenoid coil, a linearly actuated plunger, and a stop member. The plunger is disposed in the coil so that a gap exists between the plunger and the stop member at a deenergized condition of the solenoid. The assembly includes a valve having a port and a closing member. The closing member blocks the port in a closed position corresponding to the de-energized condition of the solenoid, and slidably unblocks the port in an open position corresponding to the energized condition of the solenoid. An adjustable length member is coupled to the closing member and the plunger and has a portion accessible external to the valve assembly. The externally-accessible portion of the adjustable length member is adjustable to vary the size of the gap between the plunger and the stop member when the closing member is in the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20080099082
Abstract: A gas valve includes a valve body and a valve member disposed within the valve body. In one illustrative embodiment, the valve body includes a valve seat that has a lower seat portion and a side seat portion. In some cases, the valve member may include a shutoff disk and an elastomeric sealing bead disposed on the shutoff disk. The valve member may be axially movable between an open position, a just-closed position in which the elastomeric sealing bead contacts the lower seat portion, and an overtravel position in which the elastomeric sealing bead contacts and exerts a radial force on the side seat portion of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 6500025
Abstract: A connector cable assembly has first and second plugs wired to permit plugging into a first pair of electrical plugs with a pair of terminals in a first configuration to place the terminals of those plugs in parallel connection, and to permit plugging into a second pair of electrical plugs with a pair of terminals in a second configuration, to place the terminals of those plugs in series connection. In a commercial embodiment, such a cable assembly can be used to provide power to electrical devices such as gas valves connected to receive power in parallel from the first pair of electrical plugs, and to connect in series, safety switches connected to plugs with a pair of terminals in the second configuration. By using an adapter with specialized connections between two sets of terminals it is possible to use additional cable assemblies to connect in excess of two switches in series.

  • Patent number: 6026836
Abstract: A diaphragm valve including structure which incorporates a support surface positioned to limit extension away from a main valve seat of a valve seat closure diaphragm. Alternative embodiments have the support surface formed on an insert within the valve housing, and formed as part of the interior surface of a wall of the housing. Alternatives for conveying control pressure to the side of the seat closure diaphragm adjacent the support surface include forming the surface on a body of porous material, and forming the surface with a channel which communicates with a relief port. Inclusion of a support surface minimizes stress and strain in the closure diaphragm when the valve is in an open state, thereby increasing the allowable valve working pressure.

  • Patent number: 5611200
Abstract: A linear hydraulic actuator has a reciprocating pump which provides pressurized hydraulic fluid contained in a reservoir to a hydraulic cylinder in which slides a piston which supplies the actuator output. A diverter valve in flow communication with the pressurized hydraulic fluid has an adjustment shaft allowing manual adjustment of the rate of flow of pressurized hydraulic fluid to the cylinder. Preferably the pump is immersed in the hydraulic fluid held by the reservoir, and the adjustment shaft of the diverter valve penetrates a wall of the reservoir to allow external adjustment of the diverter valve.

  • Patent number: 5000222
Abstract: A pressure adjustment screw for a fluid flow control device cannot for safety's sake be rotated within a threaded cylindrical bore on the device's body to withdraw it beyond an extreme pressure level safety setting. To allow field adjustment of the set point pressure and at the same time to prevent withdrawal of the adjustment screw beyond the extreme pressure level safety setting, a stop collar is fixed within the cylindrical bore in a position contacting the adjustment screw when the adjustment screw is in its extreme pressure level safety setting. The invention includes a number of means for fixing the stop collar in this position, as do methods for fixing the stop collar in this position.

  • Patent number: 4561288
Abstract: A flue gas analyzer connects a carbon monoxide gas analyzer cell into a flue gas system to analyze accurately the carbon monoxide content of a flue gas sample. A predetermined flow of flue gas through the analyzer cell at a constant rate is provided by a pump and orifice configuration to accurately determine the carbon monoxide content of the flue gas.
