Abstract: The invention relates to a sanitary appliance comprising a base part which is fixed to a plate (1,2) and a housing (22) surrounding said base part (3). The base part receives all functional parts of the appliance but is not visible from the outside. A receiving area for a mixer cartridge (7) is provided in the base part, in addition to a bottom (14) for feed pipes and optionally drainpipes. The mixer cartridge (7) and the feed pipes are connected by means of an interchangeable intermediate element (18). The appliance can be adapted to various operational modes and mixer cartridges by replacing said intermediate element.
