  • Publication number: 20230198471
Abstract: Described herein is a single-input hybrid Doherty power amplifier (PA). Unlike the conventional 214 Doherty PA inverter which only performs the correct load modulation at its center frequency, the hybrid Doherty PA (HD?-PA) combiner network achieves a wideband load modulation using the frequency dependence of the electrical length of the output combiner lines versus frequency for sliding the PA mode of operation. A modified theory is presented herein to allow for a single-input PA implementation. In this design, the outphasing angle is only changing with frequency and not the input power.

  • Publication number: 20220294394
Abstract: A multi-band Doherty power amplifier (DPA) is provided. A dual-band Doherty power amplifier (DB-DPA) is based on a 3-way architecture and comprises a main amplifier for each band and an auxiliary amplifier handling both bands. The 3-Way DB-DPA improves the average drain efficiency in concurrent dual-band operation compared to the traditional 2-Way DB-DPA, by avoiding early clipping in the main amplifiers, while benefiting from load-pulling from the auxiliary power amplifier.

  • Patent number: 5504395
Abstract: An incandescent lamp bulb which is driven by an electronic control module (ECM) and method of manufacture characterized in that an inductor comprising a magnetic element and a winding thereon is disposed within a screw shell base of the lamp bulb and surrounds the lamp exhaust tube therein. One end of the winding on the magnetic element is connected to a filament wire within the screw shell base and the other end of the inductive winding is connected to an output terminal of the ECM control module. In this manner, the inductor significantly reduces the di/dt rise time of voltage and current when a triac within the ECM module is driven to conduction on each one half cycle of the applied AC line voltage. This operation in turn produces a substantial reduction in radio frequency interference, both of radiation transmitted into space from the lamp bulb and by direct DC coupling back into the AC line voltage source.
