  • Publication number: 20110001355
Abstract: The power sub-assembly (3) for a micro-hybrid system (1) in an automobile includes a AC-DC converter (8) with a transistor bridge (13), an energy storage device (10) and a power bus (9) including at least two substantially symmetrical and parallel conductors (22). The conductors (22) include respective substantially planar surfaces (23, 23?) facing each other. The power bus integrated in the power subassembly allows for a parasitic inductance that is by far lower than that of the standard cables in power subassemblies of the prior art, particularly in order to avoid overvoltage at the terminals of the transistors in the AC-DC converter.

  • Patent number: 5521450
Abstract: A separate slip ring unit for fitting to an alternator, especially a motor vehicle alternator, has a body of insulating material moulded over electrically conductive elements of the unit. It comprises a first cylindrical body portion with slip rings, a second body portion having elements for electrical connection to the alternator winding, and an intermediate body portion joining the first and second body portions together. The intermediate portion has two branches, including a conductive linking portion embedded in the insulating material. The second body portion comprises a ring of insulating material, made integrally by moulding to a diameter substantially greater than that of the first body portion, and each branch of the intermediate portion comprises a first portion which extends the first body portion, together with a second portion which is divergent radially up to the ring.

  • Patent number: 5486732
Abstract: A connecting element for a wire end, especially where the wire is a motor vehicle alternator winding, the connector then connecting the wire to slip rings, is formed with a channel for receiving the wire end, this channel being defined between two lugs in facing relationship with each other and joined together through a connecting portion which constitutes the base of the channel. The lugs are bent towards each other so as to grip the wire end. At least one of the lugs has a slot arranged at the level of at least one lateral edge and close to the connecting portion. A portion of the wire end which is bent through about 180.degree. is received in the slot, this bent portion of the wire joining a first portion of the wire end, which extends into the channel, to a second portion of the wire end which extends outside the channel. A separate slip ring unit having such connecting elements, for fitting on an alternator shaft, is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5459364
Abstract: A slip ring unit arranged to be force-fitted on to an alternator shaft, especially a motor vehicle alternator shaft, is made by moulding insulating material over electrically conductive elements so as to encapsulate the latter. It has a generally cylindrical body which includes two slip rings at its outer surface, the slip rings being connected to two electrical connecting elements for connecting the slip ring unit to the ends of winding wires of the alternator. The body of the unit has a bore for accommodating the alternator shaft. The insulating material is extended beyond one of the two slip rings, to define a collar at that end of the unit on which the fitting force is to be applied. At least one notch is formed in the extension constituted by the collar, these notches extending through the whole axial thickness of the latter so as to leave one side of the adjacent slip ring exposed. The applied fitting force can then be exerted directly on the slip ring, through the notch.
