Patent number: 12667331Abstract: A method for determining intracranial pressure of a patient includes ultrasound imaging of a central retinal vein supplying a retina of an eye of the patient, for generating ultrasound images, exerting a varying external pressure on the eye, identifying a collapse and/or an occlusion of the central retinal vein based on the images, correlating a value of the external pressure to the collapse and/or occlusion, and determining the intracranial pressure based on the correlated external pressure value. A device includes an ultrasonic transducer, a pressure sensor and a housing with a face for contacting an eye lid and/or eye ball to exert pressure on the eye, wherein ultrasonic radiation from and to the transducer is transmitted through the face. The device includes an analyzer to process the ultrasound images and the values of the external pressure and to determine the intracranial pressure based on the correlated external pressure value.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2023Date of Patent: June 30, 2026Assignee: COMPREMIUM AGInventors: Ulrich Baumann, Vincent Boris Baumann, Peter Nuot Frei, Patrick Roth

Publication number: 20250195033Abstract: A method for determining intracranial pressure of a patient comprises the steps of ultrasound imaging of a central retinal vein (14) supplying a retina of an eye (10) of the patient, for generating ultrasound images, exerting a varying external pressure on the eye (10), identifying a collapse and/or an occlusion of the central retinal vein (14) based on the ultrasound images, correlating a value of the external pressure to the collapse and/or occlusion, and determining the intracranial pressure based on the correlated external pressure value. A device (1) for determining intracranial pressure of a patient comprises an ultrasonic transducer, a pressure sensor and a housing (2) to accommodate the ultrasonic transducer and the pressure sensor. The housing (2) features a face being adapted to contact an eye lid (11) and/or eye ball (13) of the patient in order to exert external pressure on the eye (10), wherein ultrasonic radiation from and to the transducer is transmitted through the face of the housing (2).Type: ApplicationFiled: January 10, 2022Publication date: June 19, 2025Applicant: COMPREMIUM AGInventors: Ulrich Baumann, Vincent Boris Baumann, Peter Nuot Frei, Patrick Roth

Patent number: 9996775Abstract: A method for configuring the further processing of printing substrates in a digital printing machine includes modifying settings for configuring the further processing while the machine is in operation. The settings of the further processing are created by using a configuration program running on a control unit of the digital printing machine. The modified settings have an effect on at least one region to be further processed on the printing substrate and the settings are printed onto the printing substrate so as to be allocated to a corresponding region to be further processed.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2016Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Bernd Sitzmann, Rolf Kuendgen, Patrick Roth, Rainer Hofmann, Michael Postels

Patent number: 8408128Abstract: A method for operating a cleaning apparatus, having a trough and a brush disposed in the trough, in a printing press, includes first, second and third steps. In the first step, a cylinder of the printing press is cleaned by the cleaning apparatus, with the brush bearing against the cylinder. In the second step, the brush is moved away from the cylinder, and a level of a liquid in the trough is changed, resulting in the liquid being brought into contact with the brush. In the third step, the brush is cleaned by the liquid in the trough. A printing press for carrying out the method is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2009Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Stephan Balleis, Rainer Hofmann, Patrick Roth, Bernd Sitzmann, Markus Uihlein

Patent number: 8146452Abstract: An apparatus for driving a roller of a printing press includes a main motor configured to drive the roller through a first gear wheel and a first freewheel, and an auxiliary motor configured to drive the roller through a second gear wheel and a second freewheel. A brake that is different from the main motor, for example a band brake, is configured to brake the roller during overrunning of the roller following a machine stop signal. A printing press having the apparatus is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2008Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Stephan Balleis, Rainer Hofmann, Patrick Roth, Bernd Sitzmann, Markus Uihlein

Patent number: 7823881Abstract: A method of depositing sheets coming out of a sheet-processing machine includes decelerating the sheets and depositing the sheets of a main pile. Certain sheets are decelerated and fed to a second sheet pile. The system includes a device for decelerating the sheets arriving from the sheet-processing machine and for depositing the sheets on a main pile. A chain gripper system is configured to hold and decelerate a trailing edge of the sheets. The chain gripper system includes an adjustable gripper opening cam.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2007Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AGInventors: Andreas Böttger, Andreas Detmers, Peter Förch, Edmund Klein, Oliver Lang, Sven Lippardt, Markus Möhringer, Patrick Roth
