  • Patent number: 6409656
Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial sphincter provided with a valve implanted permanently on a duct or an organ, whether biological or not, during a surgical operation and which can then be easily activated from outside the human body by the patient and also easily adjusted from outside the human body during a postoperative session by a doctor. The valve (17) of the artificial sphincter comprises a rigid and airtight housing (1, 3, 16), provided with a support conduit (11) receiving the duct (2), and a strap (4) compressing this duct against a wall of the conduit, this strap being kept tight by a spring mechanism (12) which presses a lower disk (6) bearing a first magnet (9), the whole assembly being mobile in axial translation in the housing. It also comprises an upper disk (14) screwed in the housing, forming an axial stop for the first magnet and bearing a second magnet (15).

  • Patent number: 6176235
Abstract: Device comprised of a container (3) associated to a pump (4), and intended to the forced expectoration of pulmonary mucus by generating in the total air volume of the lungs controlled oscillatory variations of pressure, frequency and amplitude up to optimum valuesso as to achieve the thixotropy of the mucus, the device being characterized in that the container (3) forming the oscillatory pressure variator contains an air volume to which is applied suddenly and cyclically a progressive oscillatory depression and communicates with the air of the lungs through a flexible hose (2) and a respiratory mask (1). The device has two conduits (6) to communicate the air contained in the lungs and the hose (2) with the tympanums.

  • Patent number: 6137323
Abstract: A frequency translator includes two multipliers which receive one and the same high-frequency signal on first inputs in quadrature with respect to one another, and one and the same low-frequency signal on second inputs also in quadrature with respect to one another. Each multiplier comprises a pair of elements whose capacitance can be varied in a controlled manner, jointly and in opposite senses, connected in parallel. The respective outputs of the two elements of each pair are combined additively, considering their phase opposition, in order to form the outputs of the two multipliers which supply a summer.

  • Patent number: 5086009
Abstract: Method for the embodiment of a flat active matrix screen and a RAM memory using MIM components. The method of the invention includes the following operations:a stacking is formed of a first material, namely an oxidizing conductor, and a second material, namely an oxidizable conductor and preferably a semiconductor, this stacking is heated to a temperature suitable for provoking an oxidation-reduction between the two materials, which forms an interposed insulating film, this stacking is cooled to ambient temperature.Application for electronics concerning the embodiment of active matrix liquid crystals display screens or dynamic RAM memories.
