    Abstract: A device for the automated longitudinal guidance of a motor vehicle is described. The device is configured to cause the motor vehicle to have a driving speed during convoy travel that is equal to or less than a convoy travel maximum speed. The device is also configured to detect a transition of the motor vehicle from convoy travel to free travel and, in response to the detection, to cause the driving speed of the motor vehicle to be reduced, during the transition from convoy travel to free travel, to a driving speed equal to or less than a free travel maximum speed, the free travel maximum speed being less than the convoy travel maximum speed.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a device for carrying out a lateral guidance maneuver of a vehicle, in which at least the lateral guidance of the vehicle is effected in an automated manner. The device is also configured to detect a speed request made by the driver of the vehicle for the longitudinal speed when carrying out the lateral guidance maneuver. A traffic density describing a number, a distribution, and/or a motion of the further road-users in the environment is determined.
