  • Patent number: 10208764
Abstract: A rotor wheel for an engine includes a plurality of impeller vanes and a plurality of fluid passages defined by adjacent impeller vanes. The fluid passages are radially disposed across at least a portion of the rotor wheel. One or more impeller inserts may be disposed within one or more of the plurality of fluid passages, respectively. The impeller inserts define an impeller passage with a passage shape that controls a flow of fluid through the one or more of the plurality of fluid passages.

  • Patent number: 9188146
Abstract: A tensioning system for tensioning a stud is provided. The system includes a nut having an external surface, an internal surface engaging the external surface of the stud or puller screw, and at least two bores defined therein. The posts have first and second ends and are disposed in the bores. The first ends engage a stop surface, and the second ends extend outwardly from the bores. A cylinder includes an internal surface engaged with the external surface of the nut, and has a bore defined therein. A locking screw may be threadably positioned within the cylinder bore and engages the nut. A piston is positioned within the cylinder to define a hydraulic chamber and is configured for being engaged with the second ends of the posts. Further, a biasing member is disposed between the nut and piston. A tensioning system safety guard is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150059177
Abstract: A method for removing an end cap assembly from a combustor cap assembly includes inserting a push rod through an opening in a back plate portion of the cap assembly. One end of the push rod is engaged with a radial support feature of the end cap assembly and a substantially linear force is applied to the push rod. The force is distributed to the radial support feature, thereby preventing damage to a cap plate portion of the end cap assembly.
