  • Publication number: 20140035384
Abstract: A resonant wireless power system includes a source circuit having a source coil, an ac driver with a first resistance, representing the equivalent output impedance of the ac driver, and a matching network. A current probe measures the magnitude signal of the instantaneous source coil current. A voltage probe measures the instantaneous ac driver voltage. A phase detector compares the phase of the instantaneous source coil current and the instantaneous ac driver voltage, and produces a first output signal proportional to the phase difference. A first amplifier compares the magnitude signal and a target signal, and produces an error signal proportional to the difference. A first compensation filter produces the control voltage that determines the ac driver supply voltage. A second amplifier amplifies the first output signal. A second compensation filter produces the control voltage that determines the impedance of a variable element in the source circuit.

  • Publication number: 20140036560
Abstract: A resonant wireless power receiver that includes an electromagnetic resonator having one or more inductive elements that are arranged to form a receiver coil and a network of passive components arranged to form a matching network. A rectifier circuit converts ac power from the electromagnetic resonator to dc power. An available-power indicator measures the rectified power to assess the instantaneous power available to the receiver.

  • Patent number: 8643518
Abstract: A circuit for calibrating selective coefficients of a delta-sigma modulator is provided. The circuit includes a calibration logic module that is coupled to one of a plurality of stages of the delta-sigma modulator. The calibration logic module measures the oscillating frequency of a respective stage and compares it to a reference frequency. The calibration logic adjusts a selective circuit component associated with the respective stage so that the reference frequency and the oscillating frequency match.

  • Patent number: 8624571
Abstract: A DC-DC converter system having at least one DC-DC converter operating in either a PWM mode or a PFM mode is provided. The DC-DC converter system includes a state machine configured to control the switching between the PWM mode and PFM mode. The state machine determines whether an inductor current provided by the DC-DC converter reaches a first specified value for a selective number of clock cycles so switching between the PWM mode and PFM mode is to occur. A pulse generator circuit is connected to the state machine and being configured to provide the appropriate switching period for the PWM mode and the PFM mode at the time of switching. The pulse generator circuit is shared amongst the PWM mode or PFM mode and utilizes a master clock for its operations.
