Abstract: A wireless device may communicate, using short range communication in a low power mode, a poll to a sink device for display. The wireless device may communicate content to display on the sink device using a WiFi network and to communicate, by utilization of the WiFi network, a notification of an incoming call. Caller identification associated with the incoming call may be displayed on a display of the wireless device and a sink device.

Abstract: A network system for accessing situation related information is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a network connection for receiving an indication of an occurrence of a situation; a situational network formed based on the occurrence of the situation, the situational network including a plurality of participant devices determined to be geographically proximate to the situation, each of the participant devices corresponding to a participant in the situational network; a second network connection for presenting a roll call query to each of the plurality of participant devices soliciting a reply related to a status of the participant; a plurality of network connections established for receiving a status response from the participant devices; and a database for aggregating the status responses from responsive participants into a roll call list.

Abstract: A computing device may send using bluetooth a signal to find another computing device having a display device. The computing device and the another computing device may be registered to a same user and proximate to each other. Content is communicated to display on the display device using a WiFi network. The computer may retrieve a user profile that includes set physical positioning, physical orientation, and viewing information of a primary display device and a secondary display device. Abstract: A wireless home entertainment hub (WHEB) to communicate with audio sink devices is disclosed. The WHEB may instruct the audio sink device to change volume of audio data provided to the audio sink device. Abstract: A system and method are described for using the video switching capabilities of a first video switching device to select one of a plurality of distinguishable probe signals. The selected probe signal is detected and a corresponding control signal for a second video switching device is generated. In one embodiment of the present invention, the analog video switching capabilities of an audio-video receiver are used to select one of the probe signals. Said embodiment then detects which probe signal was passed, generates an appropriate control signal, and transmits it to a device capable of switching both analog and digital video, like a digital television or a DVI-or HDMI-capable switcher.

Abstract: A method of presenting still image data on multiple display devices using a wireless home entertainment hub comprises obtaining a registration of a plurality of devices with the wireless home entertainment hub, where the plurality of devices includes at least two display devices. An assignment of a zone for each display device of the at least two display devices is received. Still image data is caused to be displayed on a subset of the at least two display devices.
