  • Patent number: 5382369
Abstract: A water-treatment process which simultaneously performs degritting, degreasing, coagulation, flocculation and settling. The steps include breaking down into two elementary steps, at least least one of the degritting and degreasing functions and, simultaneously performing at least one of the following associated steps:coarse degritting and coagulation of untreated water;fine degritting and a first step for coalescence of grease particles, and high-energy flocculation;a second step for coalescence of the grease particles and low-energy flocculation, andseparating the greast particles and commencing a settling operation.

  • Patent number: 5047149
Abstract: An apparatus for the clarification of liquids, such as notably water, fruit juices, musts such as grape musts, including an enclosure in which is brought the liquid to be clarified after a pretreatment operation, such as screening, as well as a flotation equipment, fed by a transfer pump with liquid pressurized and relieved of the pressure prior to its introducting in the flotation equipment, from which the clarified liquid is introduced in a filtration system. The apparatus includes the features that the flotation equipment is placed above the assembly used for the pretreatment of the liquid so as to obtain a sufficient load for bringing about a hydraulic balance of the various constituents of the apparatus, in order that it can operate with a small load available upstream and allow a possible recycling, by simple gravity, of the floating particles collected at the surface of the flotation equipment to any point of the pretreatment.

  • Patent number: 4793926
Abstract: An ascending flux lamellar decantation apparatus for treating a liquid having a plurality of parallel lamellar modules which define a plurality of ducts disposed within an enclosure. The apparatus includes a channel aligned parallel to the lamellar modules for introducing liquids into the apparatus. The apparatus further includes a repartition device for maintaining hydraulic flux of liquids, which repartition device is positioned above at least one of the lamellar modules. The repartition device is made of a plurality of hydraulically independent sections of substantially equal size such that the treated liquid flow in each section is equal. The repartition device further includes a treated liquid recovery means for collecting treated liquid.

  • Patent number: 4633909
Abstract: An apparatus for the rapid in-line mixing of an additive fluid with a primary fluid includes a conduit for passing therethrough in a direction of flow a primary fluid. A nozzle is positioned within the conduit and has an outlet. A pipe supplies an additive fluid to the nozzle, such that the additive fluid is injected through the outlet of the nozzle into the primary fluid. The nozzle has extending outwardly therefrom a member to cause the additive fluid to diffuse rapidly outwardly from the outlet in a generally radially oriented fluid current and thereby for mixing with the primary fluid within a zone occupying a limited length of the conduit, measured in the direction of flow from the outlet of the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4579655
Abstract: An apparatus for the treatment of water to remove colloidal and suspended matter therefrom includes a reaction tank for receiving water to be treated and for forming sludge of flocculated or crystalline precipitated matter contained in the water. A concentrating tank receives the water and sludge from the reaction tank, removes sludge and matter from the water, and concentrates the sludge. A lamella settling tank receives from the concentrating tank the water and removes therefrom by settling remaining sludge and matter. A portion of the sludge from the concentrating tank prior to the maximum concentration thereof is recycled to the reaction tank.
