  • Patent number: 7531598
Abstract: Process for producing detachable dirt- and water-repellent surface coatings on articles, wherein during the coating process, hydrophobic particles are applied to the surface of the articles, thus generating a surface structure with elevations on that surface of the articles that has dirt- and water-repellent properties, which comprises suspending the hydrophobic particles in a solution of a silicone wax in a highly volatile siloxane, and applying this suspension to at least one surface of an article, and then removing the highly volatile siloxane.

  • Publication number: 20070113759
Abstract: A composite structural material suitable, for example, as a replacement for wooden boards, is disclosed. It comprises a dimensionally stable core material ensheathed in a dimensionally stable, laminar covering that is adherent to the core material. The laminar covering is comprised of at least one layer of parallel cords (19) bonded to at least one layer of a rigidified web material (10) selected from the group consisting of paper and cloth. Suitable core materials include polyurethane foam (38), optionally filled with particles (32) of granulated rubber, expanded perlite, expandable polymer beads, and/or glass microspheres. The parallel cords (19) preferably are supplied in the form of a strip of polyester cloth, as the warp cords thereof. The web material (10) preferably is kraft paper that is rigidified with an epoxy resin.

  • Publication number: 20060110541
Abstract: Methods, treatment compositions and treatment systems are disclosed for forming a detachable and renewable coating on a receptive surface by a process of applying a treatment composition comprising a plurality of hydrophobically modified fumed silica particles colloidally dispersed in a volatile solvent; allowing the volatile solvent to evaporate; and thereby depositing a protective coating on the receptive surface consisting of a layer of the hydrophobically modified particles, which provide a substantially transparent coating with dirt- and water-repellency properties that effectively shed dry particulate soils as well as water from the treated surface or treated article bearing a receptive surface.

  • Publication number: 20060110542
Abstract: A method for processing compositions, compositions obtained by such a process and methods of use are disclosed for forming a detachable and renewable protective coating which is substantially transparent. The inventive process compositions are produced by making a highly concentrated dispersion of hydrophobically modified silica particles in the presence of an optional, yet preferable, disilazane derivative under high shear conditions. These process compositions are intended to be further diluted to final treatment compositions, optionally while adding other functional ingredients.

  • Patent number: 7018211
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for enabling a moving person to control body movements to be performed by the person. The system comprises a video camera and a monitor for the output of the recorded video image as well as a means for inserting at least a mark indicating the position to reach during execution of a movement of a predetermined body position in the video image.

  • Publication number: 20050139120
Abstract: Paste and liquid emulsion care compositions for cleaning, caring for and paving paint and trim components of motor vehicles are provided. The compositions include, as a UV filter, from 2% to 15% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of zinc oxide with particle sizes in the nm range. The zinc oxide can be coated to provide a hydrophobic coating thereon.
