Abstract: Controlled release of self-dispersing nanoparticle active agent formulations is provided by dispersing porous particles into which have been sorbed a self-dispersing nanoparticle active agent formulation in osmotic, push-layer dosage forms. The dosage forms may provide for continuous or pulsatile delivery of active agents.

Abstract: An improved hands-free speaker telephone designed to provide high-quality sound in a relatively small instrument, while at the same time avoiding acoustic shock to a user pressing the device too closely to an ear. If a speakerphone is mistaken for an ordinary portable or cellular phone, or simply out of misguided habit, a user may intentionally or inadvertently press the speaker against an ear. This action may subject the ear to an overly-loud audio event if the speaker begins producing sound, as hands-free speakerphone speakers are typically set to a much higher volume than those of ordinary phones. The effect, which is sometimes referred to as ‘acoustic shock’, is worsened significantly where the user actually succeeds in sealing the phone around the ear, as commonly (and harmlessly) occurs with standard (personal) phones. To avoid this undesirable phenomenon, the hands-free speakerphone is provided with a seal-proof speaker configuration.

Abstract: This invention pertains to the enhanced delivery of orally administered pharmaceutical agents and methods, dosage forms and devices thereof. In particular, the invention is directed to methods including providing a low solubility drug having a pKa between about 6 and about 9; dissolving the low solubility drug in an aqueous solution, wherein a pH of the aqueous solution is less than about 6.0; dissolving a hydrophilic polymer in the aqueous solution, wherein the weight ratio of the hydrophilic polymer to the low solubility drug is less than or equal to about 0.15; lyophilizing the aqueous solution to obtain a lyophilized powder. Also disclosed are drug formulations made according to the method, and dosage forms that include the drug formulations.

Abstract: A secure and efficient package for containing a compact electronic storage media device, especially suitable for use in the retail sales environment. The package is, in a preferred embodiment, integrally formed of a semi-rigid plastic material. This package includes a front and a back, both of which form recesses for a receiving media and other items. A media well is formed as a segregated recess within one or both of the front recess and the back recess. Media retaining tabs secure the media device in the media well in such a manner that tends to frustrate surreptitious removal by unauthorized persons.

Abstract: The present invention includes a dosage form configured to provide the controlled release of an active agent formulation. A dosage form according to the present invention includes a reservoir containing an active agent formulation and an engine positioned at least partially within the reservoir. In order to reduce the possibility that the engine included in a dosage form of the present invention will separate from the reservoir either during or after fabrication, the dosage form of the present invention includes a band that binds the engine to the reservoir. The band is provided over an outside surface of the both the engine and the reservoir at or near the interface formed where the engine enters the opening provided in the reservoir. The present invention also includes a method of fabricating controlled release dosage forms having banded engine.

Abstract: A mobile telephone for displaying graphically enhanced images. The mobile station has a display for displaying images as directed by a processor. At the user's request a displayed image will be graphically enhanced using an algorithm that takes into account audio inputs being received by the mobile station, either though its normal voice microphone or though another dedicated to this function. The audio input may also be input received previously and stored, and may have been received from another device for the purpose of sharing the visualization experience. The graphically enhanced image is displayed for the user's entertainment and changes as the audio input changes. The image itself may have been captured by the mobile station if it is capable of doing so, or it may have been received over the Internet or another network, or selected from a collection stored on the mobile station itself.
