  • Publication number: 20150019435
Abstract: A system includes a transaction terminal that is configured to examine an authorization response for an indicator, which, when set, causes the transaction terminal to communicate with a portal to obtain content relevant to the receipt for the transaction approved by the authorization response. The content may identify the benefit of an offer applied to the transaction, which is not reflected in the authorization response. The content may direct the user to select an option regarding the delivery of the receipt. Options presented for selection include suppression of the printing of the paper receipt in favor of an electronic receipt transmitted to a communication reference of the user, printing a mini paper receipt in addition to transmitting an electronic receipt, and/or printing the full paper receipt at the transaction terminal.

  • Publication number: 20130282586
Abstract: A system includes a transaction handler configured to split a transaction, initiated between an acquirer processor representing a merchant and an issuer processor representing an account holder, into separate transactions with the issuer processor and at least one sponsor processor that is configured to provide the benefit of offers to applicable transactions. A portal is configured to notify the account holder of the award/redemption of the benefit of an offer using a communication channel separate from the transaction terminal that initiates and approves the transaction between the account holder and the merchant.

  • Publication number: 20130282461
Abstract: A system includes a transaction handler, a data warehouse storing data associating offers and consumer accounts, a transaction handler coupled with the data warehouse, and a transaction terminal configured to submit authorization requests to the transaction handler via an acquirer processor. After receiving account information identifying a consumer account for a payment transaction, the transaction terminal generates a first authorization request identifying the consumer account. The transaction handler identifies offer information relevant to the payment transaction and provides an authorization response containing the offer information, prior to communication with an issuer processor for the payment transaction. In response to the offer information provided in the authorization response, the transaction terminal modifies the first authorization request to generate a second authorization request, in response to which the transaction handler communicates with the issuer processor for the payment transaction.

  • Publication number: 20130268333
Abstract: A system, configured to integrate the processing of transactions and offers applicable to the transactions, includes: a data warehouse storing an offer in association with a financial payment account; a gateway configured to receive an authorization request that is transmitted from a transaction terminal without going through an acquirer processor, the gateway coupled with the data warehouse to determine whether the offer is applicable to the authorization request and if so, apply a benefit of the offer to the authorization request; and a transaction handler coupled with the gateway to process the authorization request submitted from the gateway, provide an authorization response corresponding to the authorization request, and communicate with the acquirer processor to credit funds according to the authorization request to a merchant account associated with the transaction terminal.

  • Publication number: 20130254008
Abstract: To automate the redemption of offer benefits, data associating offers and payment accounts is stored in the data warehouse of a first transaction handler. If a payment account to which an offer is associated is in the payment processing network of a second transaction handler separate from the first transaction handler, the system uses a payment processor that is in both the payment processing network of the first transaction handler and the payment processing network of the second transaction handler to communicate with the first transaction handler to detect the authorization request in the payment account that satisfies the benefit redemption requirements of the respective offer and apply the offer benefit to the transaction when the authorization request is detected.

  • Patent number: 7826804
Abstract: A communication system includes a housing with a base section and a lid pivotally connected thereto. The housing includes insulating layers positioned along a bottom surface of the base section and an inner surface of the lid. The lid includes a handle coupled to a distal end thereof. A power supply source is seated within the base section, and a power regulating circuit is coupled thereto. A controller is coupled to the power regulating circuit, and a transducer is coupled to the controller. A receiver is seated within the housing and includes a aerial connected thereto. A transmitter and a portable media player are positioned on a body portion of the operator. A receiver transmits a control signal to a controller, and the controller parses the control signal and generates a corresponding output signal that is transmitted to the transducer.

  • Publication number: 20050072693
Abstract: A storage case (1) for a compact disc (2) comprises an outer shell (4) within which an inner carrier (5) for storing the compact disc (2) is slideable between an open and a closed position. The compact disc (2) is stored in a disc storing area (20) between a lower support plate (15) and an upper retaining member (19) of the inner carrier (5). Guide plates (25, 26) slideably guide the compact disc (2) into and out of the disc storing area (20). Resilient disc engaging clips (30) on a rear end wall (17) of the inner carrier (5) resiliently urges the compact disc (2) against corresponding abutment members (33) on the front end wall (16) for securing the compact disc (2) against sideward sliding from the disc storing area (20). The combination of the disc engaging clips (30) and the guide plates (25, 26) avoid the need for a central locating spigot for engaging a central opening of the compact disc (2).

  • Publication number: 20050033657
Abstract: A graphical user interface for presenting media content having a series of representative pictorial images corresponding to various selected media publications. The interface further includes a metaphorical graphical representation of a rack shown as supporting the pictorial or thumbnail images of the media publications. Upon selection of a desired pictorial image, the selected pictorial image is brought to the forefront of the graphical rack representation to simulate taking a selected media publication off-the-rack. A series of content links are then presented to a user corresponding to the content of interest contained in the selected media publication. The user may click-on and select a content link allowing the user to browse through contents of the selected media publication. In addition, various methods are also provided for presenting electronically stored media content by visually depicting selected publications resting on a graphical rack representation as if arranged in a retail-store type display.

  • Patent number: 4280282
Abstract: A template for measuring and scribing tread and riser lines for the construction of a stairway, or similar purposes, which comprises: a plate member defining first and second straight edges which, in turn, define a square corner. First and second movable stop means are respectively carried by the first and second straight edges. The second edge is defined by a separate portion of the plate member carried by it and movable along a path of travel parallel to the second edge. Fulcrum arm means are pivotally attached to both the separate portion and the rest of the plate member, so that pivoting of the fulcrum arm means moves the separate portion and second stop means to predetermined positions along the path of travel.
