Abstract: A method and a system for modifying a three-dimensional (3D) model to create a modified 3D model efficiently and accurately. The method includes obtaining the 3D model and identifying a first point that is a plantar head of 1. metatarsal, a second point that is a plantar head of 5. metatarsal, a third point that is a pternion, and an Achilles tendon center of coronal axis. Furthermore, defining a first straight line, a second straight line perpendicular to the first straight line and a third straight line that is perpendicular to the plane. Thereafter creating the modified 3D model by rotating and translating the heel part such that the second straight line passes through the third point (306), and the Achilles tendon is parallel to the third straight line.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an insole for a shoe. The method comprises providing instructions to a person to attain a first pose; capturing a first three-dimensional image of a first foot of the person in the first pose; providing instructions to the person to attain a second pose, wherein the second pose is different from the first pose; capturing a second three-dimensional image of a second foot of the person in the second pose; generating a first three-dimensional model of the first foot from the first three-dimensional image; generating a second three-dimensional model of the second foot from the second three-dimensional model; manufacturing a first insole for the first foot based on the first three-dimensional model of the first foot; and manufacturing a second insole for the second foot based on the second three-dimensional model of the second foot.

Abstract: A moldable footwear insole is disclosed. In one aspect, the moldable footwear insole includes a cover layer configured to contact a foot, a foam layer configured to contact a bottom side of the cover layer, a core layer placed below the foam layer, the rigidity of the core layer varying at different locations of the core layer, and a base layer sized and shaped to extend below the core layer. In another aspect, the core layer is formed from a heat-moldable thermoplastic material.

In one aspect, the method includes generating a scanned image of the molded insole, three-dimensionally printing a mold based on the scanned image and reproducing a molded insole, based on the printed mold, which is substantially the same as the previously molded insole.

Abstract: A molding device is disclosed. In one aspect, the molding device includes a foam layer, a gel layer placed over the foam layer, and a flexible cover configured to enclose the foam layer and the gel layer, wherein the flexible cover comprises a movable portion and an intermediate portion placed below the movable portion, wherein the intermediate portion is placed between a portion of the gel layer and a portion of the foam layer, and wherein the flexible cover includes a surface that contacts a top of the gel layer, wherein the gel layer is configured to elastically support the shoe insole via the surface of the flexible cover, and wherein the movable portion is configured to move the portion of the gel layer between a first position where the movable portion contacts the intermediate portion and a second position where the movable portion is separated from the intermediate portion.
