  • Publication number: 20230279930
Abstract: An actuator primarily activated by transversal acceleration arising from rotational acceleration of a rotatable object is presented. The object is rotatable in a plane of rotation (P) about an object pivot point in the plane of rotation (P). The actuator comprises at least two bodies adapted to be rotatably, in or parallel to the plane of rotation (P), coupled to the object at a body pivot point of each body. The body pivot point and/or the body is arranged such that a mass distribution of the body is nonuniform about the body pivot point. Due to said nonuniform mass distribution about the body pivot point, the actuator is configured to transition to an activated state, in response to rotational acceleration of the object, by said at least two bodies rotating about their respective body pivot points in a direction opposite to a direction of said rotational acceleration of the object.

  • Patent number: 11730155
Abstract: A rotational friction brake actuated and regulated by the rate of change of the angular speed is disclosed. The rotational friction brake includes a first body and a second body rotationally attached to the first body. The second body is arranged to rotate around a rotational center axis of the second body. An actuator arrangement is configured to move a second friction surface into frictional engagement with a first friction surface. The actuator arrangement includes an actuator arm pivotably attached to the second body in a pivot point that is eccentrically offset to the rotational center axis. The actuator arrangement has a radius of gyration (RG) longer than a distance from the pivot point to the rotational center axis. The actuator arrangement has an internal flexibility which allows its shape to depend on centrifugal forces. A fishing reel comprising such a rotational friction brake is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10994663
Abstract: A jaw member for a support assembly for securing a bicycle to a load carrier for a vehicle. The jaw member includes a frame work structure formed by at least one support element and at least one rib. The frame work structure is adapted to enable the jaw member to withstand a relative high amount of tensile stress while still being relatively light weight.
