Abstract: An apparatus comprises a first cylindrical segment comprising an outer surface, a hollowed interior cavity, a first end, a second end, a diameter, and a length. The outer surface comprises a groove about the diameter and extending along the length. The groove is configured for retaining a jewelry chain wound about the outer surface for at least a portion of the length. The first end and the second end each comprise a rim extending from the outer surface towards the hollowed interior cavity, wherein the hollowed interior cavity is operable for storing an excess length of the jewelry chain. A first locking mechanism is disposed on the rim of the first end. A second locking mechanism is disposed on the rim of the second end. The second locking mechanism is configured for mating with the first locking mechanism.
