  • Publication number: 20200044769
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless local area network (WLAN) communication (e.g., Wi-Fi) and Bluetooth coexistence are described. A wireless device may consider the WLAN condition (e.g., whether a WLAN operation is critical) and the Bluetooth medium usage (e.g., Bluetooth bandwidth usage) to determine or adjust encoding schemes (e.g., such as Bluetooth codec or bit rate) for Bluetooth communications. In conditions where critical WLAN activity is to be performed (such as WLAN scanning, WLAN connection establishment, etc.) and high bandwidth Bluetooth communications are established, the device may reduce the Bluetooth encoding scheme to a lower profile (e.g., reduce the rate of the encoding scheme). Such may result in a larger window (e.g., increased bandwidth) for the WLAN procedure at the cost of reducing (e.g., temporarily) the Bluetooth quality to a lower codec, rather than risking interference and glitches to Bluetooth communications otherwise configured using higher bandwidth profiles.

  • Patent number: 10447332
Abstract: In a particular aspect, a method includes performing a first communication operation associated with a first frequency band using an antenna of a wireless device. The first communication operation is initiated by first communication circuitry of the wireless device. The first communication circuitry is associated with a first communication protocol. The method further includes, based on a duration of a second communication operation, performing the second communication operation associated with a second frequency band using the antenna of the wireless device. The second communication operation is initiated by second communication circuitry of the wireless device. The second communication circuitry is associated with a second communication protocol that is different than the first communication protocol. The first frequency band at least partially overlaps the second frequency band.

  • Patent number: 10075964
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may be communicating on a radio frequency spectrum band of a first radio access technology (RAT) using a set of antennas. The UE may reconfigure at least one antenna of the set of antennas to perform a first scan on the radio frequency spectrum band of a second RAT. The UE may determine, based on the first scan, whether to reconfigure a remaining portion of the antennas of the set of antennas to perform a second scan on the radio frequency spectrum band of the second RAT.

  • Patent number: 9893758
Abstract: In a particular aspect, a method includes receiving, at a long-term evolution (LTE) circuitry of wireless device from a wireless local area network (WLAN) circuitry of the wireless device while the LTE circuitry has control of at least one antenna of the wireless device, a request for control of the at least one antenna. Communications by the LTE circuitry using the at least one antenna corresponds to a first frequency band, communications by the WLAN circuitry using the at least one antenna correspond to a second frequency band, and the first frequency band at least partially overlaps the second frequency band. The method further includes sending a response from the LTE circuitry to the WLAN circuitry based on data included in the request.

  • Patent number: 7606391
Abstract: An apparatus and method of detecting scene changes within a video frame sequence. A video data frame pixel array is partitioned into pixel groups within a frame difference engine. Video data matching of each pixel group is compared between a preceding and following video frame. By way of example pixel group matching can be determined in response to comparing the sums of absolute pixel luminance and/or chrominance differences between corresponding pixels in corresponding pixel groups within the sequential frames against a threshold value. If an insufficient number of pixel groups match, then a scene change signal is output, such as to the encoder which decides whether to encode the entire frame or changes from prior frames. A media communication system is also described, preferably implemented within an SoC, which wirelessly communicates encoded video data for substantially simultaneous viewing by a receiver.

  • Publication number: 20040067043
Abstract: A single-chip application specific integrated circuit provides autonomous management of playback of digital video and audio. The chip includes a digital video decoder and output system, and a central processing unit controlling said digital video decoder and output system. The central processing unit receives commands to establish a current playback state for management of playback of digital video and audio by said digital video decoder and output system, and responds to a video field synchronization signal and a current playback state, without external instruction, to determine whether to display digital video, whether to decode digital video for display, whether to repeat display of previously decoded digital video, and whether to skip over digital video prior to decoding digital video for output. By delivering commands to the central processing unit, the application specific integrated circuit can be caused to transition between playback states to provide desired playback of said digital video and audio.

  • Patent number: 6587635
Abstract: A method for operating a digital video processor including a CPU and a memory to control the presentation of demultiplexed subpicture unit (“SPU”) data. The play back of the subpicture is synchronized with a system clock having a clock rate varying as a function of a desired play back speed selected by a user. The method first tests during a vertical blanking period, consecutive ones of the SPU's to identify a first SPU including a PTS value having a desired relationship with respect to a value of the system clock. Next, the video processor tests during the vertical blanking period, consecutive ones of the DCSQ commands in the first SPU to identify one or more DCSQ commands with a start time value having a desired relationship with respect to the value of the system clock. Thereafter, the one or more of the DCSQ commands associated with the first SPU are parsed, and subpicture data associated with one of the parsed DCSQ commands is displayed.

  • Patent number: 6512552
Abstract: A method of operating a digital video processor to continuously demultiplex, store and decode audio and video data streams and play back corresponding frames of audio and video. The processor further continuously demultiplexes, stores and decodes a first subpicture data stream and plays back first subpicture data in synchronization with the playback of frames of video data. PTS values associated with SPU's in the first subpicture data stream are continuously stored. The processor then detects a command instructing a transition from a first subpicture data stream to a second subpicture data stream and stores a PTS value associated with a first complete SPU of the second subpicture data stream so that it follows a PTS value associated with a last complete SPU in the first subpicture data stream. The processor then continuously stores PTS values associated with the SPU's in the second subpicture data stream.
