  • Publication number: 20230322007
Abstract: A printing system may be provided and the printing system may comprise, in an example, a controller, wherein the controller may cause a printing mechanism to selectively apply pre-treatment fluid and marking fluid on a recorded medium. The printing mechanism may comprise a first printhead to dispense pre-treatment fluid and a second printhead to dispense marking fluid, wherein the first printhead is arranged in line with the second printhead. The controller may cause the printing system to enter a first print mode, wherein in the first print mode, there are a plurality of passes of a printing mechanism where pre-treatment fluid and/or marking fluid is applied to the recorded medium, and wherein a first of the plurality of passes is to be of the pre-treatment fluid from the first printhead without the second printhead dispensing marking fluid.

  • Patent number: 11752788
Abstract: An example of a printing carriage system is disclosed. The example disclosed herein comprises a plurality of printheads, and a positioning mechanism. The plurality of printheads comprises a moveable printhead that is moveable with respect to other printheads from the plurality of printheads. The positioning mechanism is to move the moveable printhead from a first printhead position to a second printhead position.

  • Patent number: 11683437
Abstract: Mask entries for each of a plurality of passes over which print fluid drops are to be dispensed for printing an image are generated based on different types of masks and based on image data for the image. Print fluid drop dispensation for a pixel for which the mask entries for a given pass specify repeated print fluid drop dispensation is moved to a mask entry for an adjacent pass that does not specify print fluid drop dispensation for the pixel. Ejection of print fluid to print the image is caused based on the generated mask entries.

  • Publication number: 20230129355
Abstract: In some examples, a system receives image data for printing by a printer, and for a given colorant of a plurality of colorants to be used to print an image based on the image data, selects a plurality of different types of masks to use when dispensing printing fluid drops of the given colorant when printing the image. The system generates control data for printing the image using the selected plurality of different types of masks.

  • Patent number: 11623457
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a rendering apparatus, method and non-transitory machine-readable storage medium for determining a speed of a carriage during rendering of an image. A plurality of swaths of rendering fluid are deposited on a print target using a set of printheads moving across the print target. A temperature of a curing module is measured at a respective time of depositing each respective swath. An arrival time for each deposited swath to respectively arrive at the curing module is predicted. The speed of the carriage during depositing the plurality of swaths is determined based on the measured temperature of the curing module and predicted arrival time for each respective swath.

  • Publication number: 20220375132
Abstract: Examples relate to image processing, and performing fixed length format cell compression on a cell of a planar colour image based on an amount of white colour of the cell, the cell comprising a plurality of pixels, to obtain a compressed cell having four or fewer colour levels; and performing variable length format cell compression on the compressed cell to obtain a coded compressed cell.

  • Patent number: 11449283
Abstract: A hybrid-masked halftone area Neugebauer separation (HANS) pipeline for a printing system is constructed. A number of Neugebauer Primaries (NPs) of and a halftone pattern to employ within the pipeline are selected according to specified ink interaction constraints during printing system ink output onto media, at a native resolution of the printing system. An NP area coverage (NPac)-based lookup table (LUT) and a pre-LUT color profile to employ within the pipeline are constructed according to first specified ink coverage and usage constraints during the ink output, at the native resolution. LUT post-processing and post-halftone pattern masking to employ within the pipeline are determined according to second specified ink coverage and usage constraints during the ink output, at the native resolution.

  • Patent number: 11260652
Abstract: A method is disclosed. The method may involve obtaining information indicative of a number of printing passes of a print head to print a swath on a printable medium. The method may comprise determining that the print head is to perform a particular printing pass which is one of: a printing pass during which an amount of print agent to be deposited from nozzles of the print head differs, by an amount that exceeds a defined threshold, from an amount of print agent to be deposited from the nozzles during a printing pass immediately preceding said particular printing pass; and a printing pass to print a swath which is the first of a plurality of adjacent swaths in which each swath has an area coverage exceeding a defined threshold. The method may comprise preparing, based on said obtained information, a schedule for a nozzle spitting procedure to commence before the print head performs the particular printing pass.
